watching all those wedding shows on tv? i have become an addict recently and its making the singleness worse i find, but i just can't help myself daydreaming about what my wedding will be like.

I did when I was engaged and planning my wedding..now that i'm single and never went thru with it..I despise all those shows.laugh

i know how you feel... i was married the first time by a jp:cry: even though i planned half of it and picked the venue and everything. including the gown i wanted.

It's alright to daydream, but becareful not to take it too far and start worrying about things you need not worry about. flowerforyou

Oh ladies, don't you know how bad for society as a whole those shows are? They set unatainable ideals for what a wedding will be like. Who can really afford that stuff? All a wedding needs is a bride, groom, two witnesses and someone to sign the certificate. No words even have to be said.

Look, in my humble opinion, weddings are the height of arrogance. You invite all of your closest friends to stare at your back for 25-30 minutes, and then make them bring you gifts for the pleasure of seeing your back. Oh, you try to trade it out for cake, but come on, is that really a fair trade? Plus, at most weddings, the "married couple" are so caught up in what's going on (and their new spouse) that they really have no time to spend with any of the people they invited. Arrogance, simple and complete.
