The Battle of The Flag
A protest raged on a courthouse lawn, Round a makeshift stage they charged on, Fifteen hundred or more they say, Had come to burn a Flag that day. A boy held up the folded Flag, Cursed it, and called it a dirty rag. An OLD MAN pushed through the angry crowd, With a rusty shotgun shouldered proud.
His uniform jacket was old and tight, He had polished each button, shiny and bright. He crossed that stage with a soldier's grace, Until he and the boy stood face to face.
"FREEDOM OF SPEECH", the OLD MAN said, "Is worth dying for, good men are dead, So you can stand on this courthouse lawn, And talk us down from dusk to dawn, But before any Flag gets burned today, This OLD MAN IS GOING TO HAVE HIS SAY!
My father died on a foreign shore, In a war they said would end all wars. But Tommy and I wasn't even full grown, Before we fought in a war of our own. And Tommy died on Iwo Jima's beach, In the shadow of a hill he couldn't quite reach Where five good men raised this Flag so high, That the WHOLE DAMN WORLD COULD SEE IT FLY.
I got this bum leg that I still drag, Fighting for this same old Flag. Now there's but one shot in this old gun, So now it's time to decide which one, Which one of you will follow our lead, To stand and die for what you believe? For as sure as there is a rising sun, You'll burn in Hell 'fore this Flag burns, son
Now this riot never came to pass The crowd got quiet and that can of gas, Got set aside as they walked away To talk about what they had heard this day. And the boy who had called it a "dirty rag", Handed the OLD SOLDIER the folded Flag.
So the battle of the Flag this day was won By a tired OLD SOLDIER with a rusty gun, Who for one last time, had to show to some, THIS FLAG MAY FADE, YET THESE COLORS DON'T RUN.

Forever Free
America - Land of the free and home of the brave Centuries of freedom cannot be saved If we are not willing to go and defend The same rights for others, until the end Of tyrants that rule by fear and terror Blinded by ego, doomed by error If they live by the sword, in the name of God Their cause will die when our soldiers trod Forward for victory, peace and the right For others to stay home and say, "don't fight" War is unnecessary between those who reason And recognize truth instead of perversion When all else fails the dialog of peace Our soldiers efforts will not cease Til their victory reigns for all mankind And neighboring nations have peace of mind Protest if you must, but do not forget Others risk death to pay back a debt To forefathers who died that you would be Living in a land, forever free! When freedom is oppressed in far away lands By those hungry for power, that only understand Governing by force and subjection to fear Our own freedoms that we hold dear Will slowly dissolve if we ignore And take the position of no more war Not all return when the guns are stilled And grief nor tears for loved ones killed Can not be quelled by words of praise For the pride and honor of flags upraised Our soldiers portrayed in hopes to be Soon returning to a land, forever free! A Freedom Fighter's Birthday
Oh, hey, can it be? Another year older for me. If I were back at home, I'd call you on the phone. We'd laugh and goof around and maybe go out on the town. I wouldn't think twice about the cost or the price To be celebrating with friends and family. Well, hey, this is where I'm meant to be, helping other people as they learn to be free. Isn't that a wonderful gift? I know it sure gives me a lift. The birthday gift that keep on giving, a land that experiences a new way of living. I've heard it's better to give than to receive, and so I pledge to stand for liberty... or fall, if that's what's meant to be. Even though I'm far away, I'll still be having a happy birthday. I already own the gift of freedom. Can anything ever top that one? Think of me with a smile on your face, and remember me when you say grace. This birthday is bound to be the most memorable one I'll ever see. Thanks for your love and my best wishes.
Wish me a happy birthday and save up those kisses. You're in my heart and on my mind, it won't be long until I find... my way back to you.

A Boy Grows To Man
*A Mother welcomes her Son home from war* As I watched you step off that bus Standing so tall and true. I wiped a tear from my eye It didn't seem like you. What happened to the little boy I sent away that day? The one so full of boyish charm Always ready to play. I took a minute, and looked real hard I gazed into your eyes. I couldn't put my finger on it, and then...to my surprise... I realized the boy had gone and a man had taken his place. This man before my eyes had seen another place. A place not many understand not sure he always had. But still he went willingly to protect against the bad. Of things he's seen, of things he's done I'm sure I'll never hear. But the fact he stands before me eases all my fears. He took his hand, and wiped my face, then asked, "hey, what's wrong today?" I placed his face between my hands, then whispered "my baby went away."
He smiled, and kissed my cheek,
then wiped another tear. 
Then stood real tall, squared away,
and said "Mommy, I'm right here."

Well, thank you Myriah ....
but it's not as easy, as you might think...
I have a Computer Tech Friend < Rob > who works for the State here, in town... & he put my computer together for me... it is kind of old and doesn't have all the latest technology only cause i don't have the money to upgrade it... Rob was over here for two hours running scans and looking through my hard drive to even find the dang program that keeps popping back up... 
he uninstalled it once & then it is back again...
morphing into as many things as it can
and hiding in different other programs
and it has lodged itself into my hard drive...
