I would say maintain the friendship, and if again he says it or things become more, roll with it.

ughhh...lol its just...i kinda always had a crush on him. and once he said a few beers was in him...i kinda...went blah.

the first....he got emotional because of drinking...but in drinking...generally the truth comes out. He prolly does feel that way about you...but you were prolly stunned acting and it made him feel upset and outta place so he decided he should tell you that he slipped and didn't mean it because he didn't get the reaction he was looking for or wanted.You broke his heart in short. But he doesn't want to look stupid er anything...and this is why he retracted the comment.If you woulda been happy about it...he would be still making love comments....pretty sure.

I don't know how much truth there is to this but someone told me that you speak the truth more when you are drunk because your guard is down. I don't know.

I really think he meant it...or at least he would like to know if those feelings he is feeling are accurate also.Kinda in the same position as you.Talk about it a little bit and be adults.Maybe try something but both agree and know ahead of time that you will NOT lose friendship for each other. This is going to be risky no matter what unless you just say screw it and don't try to do anything but then you get the "what if" syndrome.
