Oh people will be absolutely elated to a socialist who will raise taxes, thrust government run everything on us because big mother government can do better and spend our money better, and lead us to be more dependent on the whim of the UN. Great times to look forward to. Much sarcasm intended throughout.

Well I'm sorry but this country has the worst health care of like all major Democratic countries, the worst infant deaths, obesity and in some cases educational rates. SOMETHING has to change and soon. Everyone should read Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler to see where we are headed if we keeps things the way they are.

I respectfully disagree with you. The United States has the BEST health care in the world. Why do you think countries like England and Canada, even France (Ugh) are comeing TO THE USA for health care? Because in those countries they have what would be considered 'socialistic" health care. You get to see a doctor when THEY the government say so, that is if you live long engough to finally see one.

That is actually a common misconception. Countries with socialized health care do not have sub standard health care and I've yet to meet someone from Britain, France or Canada to come here for basic health care, specialized maybe but not your basics. This country is the overworked, overweight too stressed out in debt from making health administration rich and basically too stubborn to realize that we need to change and do it fast.
I would suggest not listening to propaganda and doing some research on the matter.

I've heard plenty of stories of people having to wait so darn long for care by the time they were seen it was far too late to be treated. People becoming a pre-illness society where they have a mere cold and lineup waiting for doctors and people with real illness unable to be seen. Doctor have no incentive to practice at their best for they don't get paid based on merit or practice. It's a ridiculous system, to think the most inefficient enterprise this world has ever seen, the federal government, can run something better than private. Such has NEVER happened nor ever will.

to me, the biggest change i would like to see is our government stop sticking their nose in other countries affairs and rebuild the beauty and prosperity in this country.........the money that has been spent else where would have done so much for us here...........am i greedy? nope....just love my country................

I agree ... not just about the US, but I think exactly the same way about the UK.

You sort out your people at home first.

Sorry, but the people in the Uk only come to the US to get care they cannot get in the UK or Europe.

Try looking at Micheal Moore's Sicko film.

A bit drum-beating, but an interesting insight.

Your health service is shot to hell and ou refuse to deal adequately with your sick first, in a proper way.

Especially your returning, shot-to-hell military!

right on.if you lose your job,you lose your healthcare.someone needs to come up with a plan that we can afford that is not tied to our jobs or the government.

You could afford social healthcare, if you didnt keep spending enormous amounts on weapons and 3 year-long trips to the Gulf, when you dont need to.

Checks and balances.

In the States your health care is shot. Not enough doctors or nurses graduating. That's why your hospitals come to Canada and pay out bonuses, moving allowances, living allowances to Canadian doctors and nurses. No health insurance = no care. Unless of course they recruit here because the level of training is better? Hmmmmm.
The only reason some Canadians go to the States are to avoid some of the waiting times for various elective treatments. Perhaps you could explain why Americans come here to buy their meds. Enough that there had to laws enacted here to prevent the cross border sales of meds.
Try spending less on military R&D and more on health care then talk about decent health care.

Spend less on military???? Are you in cahoots with some terrorist country?

I am going to admit what I do not want to admit, but as a legal secretary in personal injury and some med mal, Well if you would see some of the assinine cases that cross my desk, you would get a good idea of why there is a shortage of people in the medical field and why insurance rates are so high. Sad but true. I see it all the time.

My son is an EMT and nurse's technician, working his way up, the hospital will pay for his education. The USA DOES offer good benefits. I will not go into detail of all the perks he gets. But he gets exhausted from all the shifts he has to do because there just are not enough people in the medical field.

Why work to help people and get your behind sued to you know where and back? It is a mess. And it did not happen overnight, and no one group, person, entity, whatever is to blame.

BUT, AGAIN, THE USA HAS THE BEST HEALTH CARE. JUST NOT ENOUGH DOCTORS, NURSES, ETC.

It really is a hard field to be in, not a
'pretty' one, rather yucky, don't know how my son does it, but thank God we have people who love the work and care.

Hmm.WRONG.

But then we don't pay $75 dollars for a hammer or $100 for a toilet seat just because instead of ordering hammers and toilet seats a spec sheet is filled and offers taken to fill a spec sheet. Nor do we spend outrageous amounts on R&D that will never see the light of day. Take care of the troops you have, give them what they need without waste and take proper care of them when they get home. That will do a lot more than hi-tech toys.

Wrong again. Your health care system is based on who can pay. So someone without the means is out of luck.
Again, explain why people have to come to Canada to get their meds? They can't afford the cost of them Stateside. So they come to Canada or the used to order them online from Canadian pharmacies to be able to afford them.

Wrong, Wrong. You do not live in the USA, so how can you comment on what the citizens of the USA think, feel and do?

AND, there is the great debate over the SAFETY of these drugs from Canada since they do not stand up to the USA requirements.
