I gotta ask, although maybe it's just me, but is it annoying to anyone else that when you email 100's of people just to chat BARELY ANYONE bothers to write back, even if just to say "no thanks"????

It's standard fare here. You could send MILLIONS of e-mails to various JSH members, and you'll be lucky if you get ONE back. Either the people here are just too shy for their own good, or they're all nothing more than spambots made to appear like humans.
Sorta like those Cylons on that Battlestar Galactica remake... only they don't have a plan. Or a clue.

THAT's why I normally don't write a guy first..I didn't start writing guys first until I went in that match game section..but I think I'm gonna stay out of there now.

Come play in the forums, it's a great way to meet folks.
I know sometimes my email here is funky, it appears the email was sent and it really wasn't, and I know at times that others have sent me an email that I really didn't get. So I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. I try to answer all emails, at least acknowledge them, unless they are the total perverts (those I print out and keep near my bed for late night reading )

I'm of the mind that if the profile catches my attention and I like what they have to say I'll message them. I hardly if ever message simply due to looks. Usually I write because it's someone I could see myself becoming FRIENDS with. It's not like I'm expecting to fall in love with you if you write back.

I don't email ppl who are not in the forums. I prefer mailing ppl I have something to say to. I get plenty of mail and it's actually interesting, intelligent, respectful and from ppl who actually give a little care for who I am. I could not care less for the "I like ur pic and u seem nice" 's that are sent generically to thousands of women with no real thought as to who they even are...or why they're here.
Sorry...was that my first vent? I think it was. Hoot hoot!

Nope, it's not just you. Cutiepie is right, spend a little more time in the forums and get to know some folks that way first. Folks are usually a bit more open to chatting if they have some kind of idea what you're about. As for folks not replying, rude, no excuse for not being at least courteous enough to send a nice 'No thanks'. |

I sent some e-mails to local people when I first signed up here, and nobody ever replied.
So I hung around and posted a lot in the forums, got some sort of reputation, and now I get tons of e-mail here. And I never write to anybody first. It's all about the exposure. And the way to get exposure here is in the forums. |
