I think he'd be the plastic food you see on display. It looks good, you know it's too good to be true, and it is completely undigestable.

Later, you see it get all dusty but it never goes away. It just stays there no matter how sick of looking at it you become. You hear people talk about why it should stay and that they like it, but you can't quite figure out why, and their reasons just don't make a whole lot of sense.

Finally, you just stop going there so you don't have to see it, and look for real palatable options elsewhere.
