I'm getting frustrated with this head of hair I've got!!! I've always had hair straight as a board, but here lately..omg..it's got so much curl in it I can't do anything with it....wash it, and it looks like a badly frizzed perm...like I stuck my finger in the light socket..sighssssss About ready to shave it off and start all over..lol |

This is Roy coming off a 16 hour shift at the home. Been really racking up the hours. Keeping busy has been helping me to keep my mind off the fact that I am a widower but I sure am tired.

Morning folks,
Anniversarys are tough, it always brings back lots of emotions. Time doesn't heal, just gives us lots of practice; thus we handle it a little better each time. |

Morning Carolyn
Ron and Don You're right Don about the anniversary. I've had 9 years of practice at it now but June 13 is still a significant date for me. I don't fall apart any more. In fact, after 11ish in the morning I often feel the weight lift off. I've noticed a pattern for me and have heard other widowed people say this to, that often the days leading up TO THE date, are worse. I found that to be true yesterday and last night. My eyes are even swollen today BUT...I'm off to get some blonde highlights in my hair and sort of have a fun day so I'll see you all later. HUGS all around |

The two year date for me was about as half as bad as the first year. Is that normal?

It works, you also found a help mate.
That helps too. |

Hi everyone
Captain..the first year was tough but the second year was the toughest for me. I was used to him being gone months at a time when he was in the military..so that first year it felt more like he was on deployment..but the second year hit me harder than the first...it's normal to me, but I'm not sure everyone experiences that either... |

Hi Betty
Yes, every year is still tough. I've been alone every year so far so I have all the time to think....the first 2 years I stayed all night at the cemetary, and the next 2 have stayed up most of the night. I dread this next one....but, I survived the first 4 so surely I will make it through this one. Have ya'll ever stayed all night at the cemetary? or does that sound morbid? It just felt like that's where I should have been at that time...hard to explain I guess. |
