Me and Rob had a nice e-mail conversation last night where we both discussed our disagreement in private. I am satisfied, I cant speak for him, that we have agreed to disagree on this. He has his stand and I have mine.
I think we handled it in the proper manner privately and like adults. While my stance has not changed on the future benefits for my brothers and sisters, I was wrong to threaten to get nasty because his is stance may differ. Stepping back from this issue for a time was the best course of action that I could have taken. My passion on this topic was overcoming my better judgement concerning the attitude of my posts.
I would like everyone to know that I appreciate Rob for having better judgement and respect by initiating the e-mail conversation that we had.
His stance (IMO) is still wrong, bigsmile but do not expect me to get nasty!!noway noway noway

You arrogant sob. I could care less if you are friendly or nasty with me, lol. So nice of you to decide your opinion carries so much more weight than mine. Fire away all you want, you will not affect my mood, direction, or line of thinking. Have a great day Fanta, I have my dd-214, my ribbons, and my medals, I could care less what you think of my terms of service.

Ahh heres the answer Fanta... We have ourselves a "ribbon boy".
You know, the ones who think they know more and better than every one else because they have a few ribbons on their chest, and plaques on their walls.

And before someone tries and nail me to the wall for that comment, keep in mind I had a decent chest of ribbons and awards myself when I got out of service. If I remember correctly, I had mroe ribbons on my chest than my first sergeant, when I was restationed in '95, and was waiting on authorization for two more. Ticked her off too. But in my case, I don't let the ribbons and awards go to my head and make me think I am better than others, or that I know more.

One specific reason is, I receioved an AAR (Army Achievement Medal) simply for stepping forward as a pfc (2nd lowest ranking person on site) and showing the training general around the site, when he appeared and my chain of command was elsewhere.

The General was impressed that I knew the site well enough that I was able to describe the daily routine, and what would likely happen on our part iof we were "overran". He like the fact that I was capable of taking charge when the leadership wasnt there.

Personally, every shoulder should have been able to do what I did, to a point. Yes a new soldier may nothave had as much training experience, and may have been a bit more intimidated by the Generals appearance, but still, it was my job and I did it.
So personally, the AAR that time was nothing but a slap on the back for doing my job to standards.
lol, I was tslking about real medals Daniel. I was not referring to being some brass's tour guide, lol. I never once mentioned what my ribbons were for, actually they are all from the wal mart fabric section in a wonderful array of pink and blue colors. Thanks for sharing that wonderful story of showing you have the past history of being the first one to sniff the brass's crotch when they showed up. I am sure nobody could get out of your way fast enough as you went to make your presence known. I give you 10:1 odds you were always the mofo whining and snitching everyone out...........first sgt, first sgt spc Single_Rob threw a water balloon at me.......

Well, so much of my opinion of Fantas statement concerning your maturity Rob. I never claimed you didnt ear any medals you got, and I never claimed how you got them. I stated the statement I made in regards to how you wrote another post, which came out directly statiung you had received medals/awards while you were in combat situations, along with the fact that you think only those under fire or in combat should recieve benefits.

And as far as your coments about my "showing you have the past history of being the first one to sniff the brass's crotch when they showed up. I am sure nobody could get out of your way fast enough as you went to make your presence known. I give you 10:1 odds you were always the mofo whining and snitching everyone out...........first sgt, first sgt spc Single_Rob threw a water balloon at me....."

Grow up and act your age. I specifically stated I was the only one around in that particular circumstance. And that I simply did what I was supposed to.

Going off of yourprior posts, here and in other threads, I have to say it is people like you that give the military a bad name.
You know, the ones who think their joib is more important than any other, and thus (their job, I k nowyou said you didnt accept any medical) should receive more than others.

It is because of people like yo uthat other soldiers get hurt. Because of your arrogance, and self beliefs.
I am done with this thread. I have stated myopinion on the gi bill, and I have countered every single thing you had to say Rob, withyuo coming back and insulting and attacking me on several levels, including personal.

All I can say in closing, is I am sure glad you are no longer in service, as that means one less person that might cause others to get harmed.
