No because if one is having issues the other one needs to be aware because ultimately it will effect both.

should keep their finances separate? depends.......your age, your wealth when you met, how you got your money, there is a lot to think about.......my law prof. is in his 40's getting mairried for the first time and put all that into a prenup.............. |

I think that when you are couple there is an easy solution to this question. first) figure out what the total household bills will be second)set up a separate checking account for those bills each person adds equally to that account. If you want to save for a major purchase or vacation use the same program. You can still maintain separate accounts,but have one for household bills and major purchases
