I was wondering if anyone has actually made a really close friend or stayed with somone for more than a year?
Off any website, but my point is I'm starting to think I'm just unlucky, and not given a decent chance.

I've met nine people from various sites. Eight of them were train wrecks of stellar magnitude.

I was on a pay site for 3 months in 2006, and was contacted by 174 of their members (mostly locals) during that period. It was clear that the vast majority had not even read my entire profile, though.

I have not met anyone from this site, primarily because none of the locals here will talk to me!

As it stands now, I no longer use dating sites to try to meet people. The kind of person I'm looking for just doesn't seem to use dating sites.

I'm new to this, but I've made a good friend here...truly a friend. He has since left the site, but we continue to stay in contact. I'm glad I met him. He has been a positive in my life. We would never have met each other, but for this site.

I'm going to stick it out here & see what happens. At my age it's hard to meet people elsewhere. I'm not a barfly & most of my friends are married themselves and don't know many single people. Unless I trip over 'Prince Charming' in the parking lot of the grocery store, my opportunities are limited.

Take advantage of your age...get out, meet people wherever & whenever you can. Explore the opportunities here, too. You look & sound like a good, handsome, sensitive guy. Some girl is going to snap you up...it may just be when you least expect it!
