It was a bright orange sunset
turning into a clear, starry, moonlit sky
right around dusk
When a little chickadee couldn't find his nest
He flew away when mama wasn't looking
just to see if he could
Now he can't find his tree
None of these leaves look familiar
He chirps and chirps but is never heard
The night gets darker and it's harder to see
The little chickadee perches on an electrical wire
just waiting for morning to break
He perches for some time before fear sets in
He hears strange noises and larger birds
that he doesn't know are flying near
he looks at them but they can't see him
They're bats. He doesn't know any better
All of a sudden he hears a large crash
"Oh", he says, "It was just thunder."
It could be worse, he thinks to himself
It begins to rain
He doesn't want to move 'cause he can't see
He sits and begins to drip
He's soaked from beak to wings to talons
His legs are getting weary
against the drops
and he falls to the ground
poor little disabled chickadee
Now he has a broken wing
As he lay on his broken wing on the ground
His ruffled and ruined feathers separate
His eye just want to cry
He just wants to die
He just might freeze to death
or will dawn come soon enough?
When dawn breaks, mama will go searching
This he knows, just hold on for mama
She can fix everything, right?
Dawn begins to meet the sky
and the sun begins to rise and dry up the rain
As the little chickadee predicted
Mama is searching for her baby
She searches far and wide, chirping like crazy
No response was heard
She looked around as well
to be sure he wasn't sleeping
At last, she finds her disassembled baby
lying still on the road in a contorted position
Her little chickadee is no longer around
The little chickadee would the learn that
Mama can't fix the unrepairable.

Hiker, she's so reaching out to you! This is a good sign!

But she thinks I can't fix her

You can't! But that's a good thing that she recognizes it. If you can't fix her, by deduction, you're not the root of her issues, either.

but it says mama can fix everything,all we can do is tell them we love them support them and pray,your in my thoughts and prayers

I just got this want to hug ya kinda feeling,, I can say from experience it will pass,, My Daughter and I are at a place in our lives where the love and respect is so deep,,, I am blessed with the ups and lotsa downs we had,, to have what we have right now,,,, Priceless

She sees that she left the nest and that now it all seems unfamiliar, but doesn't want it to. She knows you love her, will always be there for her, but she feels disconnected. She is holding herself responsible for this and feels broken, but her awareness of this is asking for things to be familiar again. To belong again, and see things is a positive way.

People who are truly broken aren't aware of this~ they see it as others perceptions and not reality. Sure, she is saying she feels like it can't be fixed, but I see it as moreso that you are not responsible for fixing her. She needs to fix herself and sees this, so maybe what she is asking for is support to do that on her own.

I'm here for you, friend.

hiker ur daughter is a gifted writer, but what i wanna know is: what young person in their right mind shows their poetry 2 THEIR PARENTS?!

She didn't. She left the house in handcuffs and had no chance to grab her stuff. I asked if she wanted me to bring her journal, and she said no. To me, that meant "read it".
