Am getting a late start, slept in a bit. I do, among other jobs, trapping. I live-trap wild hogs. They look a lot like razorbacks and are just as dangerous. I get hired by ranchers to do this because there are hundreds here and do a lot of damage to the cattle's water troughs. Wildlife management has been shooting them from helicopters. I either sell them to ranches who offer hog hunts or I take them to my place to ready them for butchering. I don't like waste and the meat I process, I use, sell or give to relatives. After checking the traps, I will work on my house. Still building it. I took yesterday to rest. I stay working a lot. I slow down and rigemortise tries to set in, LOL! Did you say you can eat wild hogs? Why do they destroy the troughs and would they kill other animals ? They dig out from under the cement troughs. That action breaks the water line and if it's not caught soon enough, a lot of water is wasted and the cattle have nothing to drink. If they are threatened or cornered, they will attack. If they get you down, they will eat you. The meat has a better flavor than in the stores and has no growth hormones added. I cut it as lean as I can. All meat in the store, chicken, beef and pork is fed hormones to make them grow faster and bigger. I have a feeling that is why kids seem to physically mature a lot sooner than they did when we were kids. Another thing the food processors have been doing is passing all meats through radiation. Supposedly to kill of bacterias and add shelf life. What happens is it takes away a lot of the food value also. Here is a link. http://www.fda.gov/FDAC/features/1998/398_rad.html |
