1954...I'm sitting on top of that hill! I can see for miles - what a view...ahhhhh. Plan to hang on to the top tO MY DYING DAY. As my 85 year old uncle says, "Gonna live until I die!"
(((greer)))...i took care of my mother by myself for her last 8 years. Held her in my arms as she took her last breath. It was sometimes hard, frustrating, exhausting, but had it's own rewards. I have many sweet & tender memories of those years. To the very end my mother was a delightfully fun, sweet person. When she was gone, the time we had together for those years brought me great comfort. I'm trusting it will be the same for you - you are doing an incredibly loving thing. In the end, it will all have been worth it! |

greer My Dad was the easy one and my Mom as you put it ( if you knew my Mother
). We went in circles you would have thought we were square dancing, here she would come, we locked elbows and I lead her right back to her chair. If I laid down to rest on the couch, she was always coming to ask some off the wall question and I would take her back to her chair. It wasn't her fault, she had just suffered too many mental breakdowns thru the years due to a my brother, who fried his brains on drugs. The tough part was she had to be dialized 4x's a day 7 days a week and she fought me every time I would do an exchange. Putting her in a nursing home wasn't an option, because they couldn't do the type dialysis she was on and I promised my Dad I would never put her in one anyway.  God gave me the strength to get thru each day, but there were many difficult days.You are in my prayers. You have a good support group on here I see and that is so important. Thanks to all of you that help hold greer together, you are all special and she is an awesome woman.
