Oh, I am so sorry. I remember when we had to put our dobie mandy down. I cried for days. We got her when I was born and she died two days before my 11th birthday. You did the right thing though, it would have been cruel to make him suffer.

You did the right thing though, it would have been cruel to make him suffer. I cried when he was in pain, now that he is gone I really don't have tears. The screaming was what killed me inside, I can deal with him having a peaceful passing. |

That's so sad! It's actually better now that he is gone, he was screaming a lot and in more pain. He had a peaceful passing, he was put down which was better than watching him suffer. |

It's always sad when your pet ends up going away.
My cat essentially went AWOL on me when I left him with my dad one day (had to go out of town for a job)- when I returned, he told me that my cat just booked and never came back. Being that my cat was rather old to begin with (he was pushing twenty years of age at the time), I specifically told my dad NOT to let him out because of his advanced age. But something happened and he got out, never to return. What made things worse was the fact there have been coyotes in the area, which didn't help things. It also didn't help hearing some friends of mine tell me that cats like to go off on their own and die where no one can find them. I went to all the local animal shelters and rescue houses to see if he was picked up or something, but I turned up nothing. About the only thing I DIDN'T do was put up "lost cat" signs, as the neighbors are notorious for not providing any help. It's almost two years since my cat went away. He was probably my only friend in the thirty-plus years I've been on this rock, and I still miss him terribly. But nothing lasts forever, which is especially true about pet ownership. |

Well im sorry to hear, it always sucks seeing our animals in pain. I just had to put down my 4 year old dog 2 years ago, she got 2 herniated disks in her bottom back and was paralyzed in a period of 10 min and there was nothing i could have done for her cause no matter what she wouldn't of gotten better. Still makes me sad to this day.
Well at least he is in no more pain now and is probably thanking you for it. You know if ya need anyone we are all here for you. But i am so sorry for your lost its never easy to say goodbye. |
