Maybe it's been too long since I've had a date, but I don't remember ever getting a gift on a first date, nor expecting one. I would think he was trying to impress me with a gift rather than just being himself. But that's just me.........

Do guys bring flowers any more? Does our age play a factor in what we expect from the other person? I'm usually happy if the person I am dating shows up. |

I thought we were supposed to bring flours on the first date. No wonder she looked at the self-rising funny.

come on get with it ... the new way to pick up your date is to rev the motor and blow the horn and yell yo women lets go .... at least thats what my neighbors do ...
 
man if someone did that to my daughter id run out jump in the seat look him dead in the eyes and say lets go for a ride ... and most likely have a new car if i got it out of the swamp the next day ..

I think we all try to impress others all the time and I don't really see anything wrong with it and I don't think it means someone is being phony. It's not like anybody's giving or expecting a Rolex or Tiffany's! Well, maybe some do! Strike that last statement!  (mean't sincerely)

People expect so much fun on dates and are ready to chuck it all at the first sign of anything serious. Kind of a drag, really. But the dating biz helps seperate the weeds from the flowers, ya know?
