I not only missed out on having children but also grandchildren.

Hi Carolanne, my son is adopted so I missed out on giving birth but would not trade him for the world. There were a few things about raising him I could have done without, but can't imagine not having him. He's about to be married this fall but, unfortunately, I don't think she wants to have children. So far I've been able to keep my disappointment to myself!

this is not a good day to ask me about the joys of having children. I swear mine is trying to kill me. I used to say either my son or I would not live to see him turn 21. He will be 38 this summer. We both survived!!

Not sure how much more I could take. I actually heard myself telling her to move out - and she is not yet 18 Been there, done that too! Mine moved out at 17. Only friends who knew what I was going through know how bad it was. Anyone meeting him now would never believe the stories I could tell. Hang in there, they do outgrow it eventually! I think he was in his 30's lol

I can identify. Was married for 21 years to a man who turned out to be sterile. Didn't realize that until I had all the tests and my systems were all fine. He had no interest in adopting. So.... no kids. Big hole in my life and a large empty spot in my arms for years. Now, I "adopt" my friends kids and grandkids. Being a "surrogate" mom and grandma is okay by me.

I buy for my nephew, his wife, and their two boys. I've been spending Christmas with my sister and her partner. We do stockings and presents for each other. It helps.

I spoil my great nephews but because everyone goes to there inlaws for Christmas my family ends up celebrating early usually a week before.I am a step mother but the kids live in Alberta and don't want anything to do with me since my husband has passed on.

Hey ladies, I would like to say the kids are an iffy part of live. One that is greatly prized, but iffy. The "grands" are what I was born to be with. OMG, I do not know what I would do without them!!!
