If nothing else, it's hypocritical. Let's kill killers to prove that killing is wrong. Why should we pay for her living when she took the life of three innocent children. She get to wake up every morning, work out, read books, use the internet, eat, visit with her family, etc. What does the three children have? because death is too easy for her...let her "live with it" ANYWAY...isolated case. In the grander picture....should we "hit" our children because they are showing violent tendencies? There's a much greater (an encompassing) message to be sent. Susan smith isn't unfortunately isn't an isolated case, People are killing now for a pair of tennis shoes or cuz someone looked at them wrong. And we as tax payers are having to pay for these killers for the rest of their lives. The things that we pay for for prisoners is unbelievable. They live better and get more things then a lot of our hard working lower class americans.

Nothing like a good public hanging... If God was so honorable why did he allow bad things to happen to good people?!? My 2 cents.... man, you need to read the Bible on that one. whole diffrent topic. Oh yeah... that's the other guy...

what about you that beleave in god in his opinion he states the u should not seek revenge How can you consider justice (or punishment) for a crime revenge? The punishment is decided by a person that is supposed to be impartial to the crime.

I have very mixed feelings about this. Certainly one who has premeditatedly killed and killed/molested a child deserves like punishment. I just myself could not hand down the death sentence. Hope I never get on jury duty for a case that allows for the death sentence, I would really be torn in different directions. Lindyy

Until someone can give a good solution to the problem..it is what it is. The prisons are more of motels lately. prisoners have it better than alot of the good hardworking person that are struggling. if you kill...then accept the punishment of the state. don't do the crime if you can't do the time

If you want to look at it from a legal prospective then it is justified, ie laws set down stating the punishment for murder is you die. if you look at it from a religios point of view then it is justified, ie eye for an eye, he who spills mans blood, by man shall his blood be spilt. And last but least, the least relevent in some peoples mind, the personal view. My 3 year old nephew and 4 year old niece were molested by there "father" and if you ask me this man should be hung upside down and gutted like a fish. So yea any way you look at it its justified.

Capital punishment is justified in many cases such as murder and other unspeakable crimes only with 100 per cent proof and evidence . If you take one innocent life is one too many !. So ,the justice system must be very careful dealing with who lives and who dies . !.

Well it all depends on the circumstances and what the crime was... but I have heard that even an animal will kill its own if they are not born right.

No it's not wrong. The person who does the killing has determined that his victim has no rights so in my view they have forfieted thiers.

don't care what you call it you take a life you have no right to yours. I hope you are never unjustly accused. Why not make them pay for their incarceration for the rest of their days?
