no wanted gore but is it the right for this teacher to pass her beliefs to kids in her class

I think your totally in the right. Teachers are here to teach not to confuse our kids. They need to be reminded that they are not infront of a room full of adults, but infront of young innocent minds. And to make matters worse...what if one of those kids in that class have a parent over there fighting for us? I bet she made that baby feel real good!!! What a hag!!! I have a brother over there.

I can think of several reasons we are there...but that's not the point. the teacher has no right to only teach one side. they are there to teach and give all info...not for their own agenda. I would say something. If they want to teach one thing...teach it all. I would have no problem with pointing this out to the teacher. sad that teachers use the class room for their own agenda's...and yes it goes for all sides

i don't think a teacher should be teaching a 9 y/o kid about that stuff anyways. wait till it's in our history books! Wait till the kids in highscool so he can bring in more knowledge about the situation.

Just sit your son down and explain your views. Let him know how and why you feel the way you do. Kids are smart, he will get the message.

so...should this war not even be talked about in school??? I'm just confused

OK...why are we there...I'm curious??? and that is the point...why??? Good question |
|
|

it should be talked about just at a later age!

hmmmmm, I can see this turning into another liberal/conservative hum drum argument. Can't say as I think the papers and news agencies tell the whole story. You really need to go out and buy some real reading material to get the whole picture of what goes on in Iraq from start till now. Not as simple as "War for Oil".

well for one maybe because we don't want the country to have peace and freedom and maybe we won't have one of them walk in in a bomb us.but thats all besides the point we are talking 4th grade here and no where should this come up in the lesson plans

no wanted gore but is it the right for this teacher to pass her beliefs to kids in her class Umm wait a second..that's not a "belief"..thats "fact" and "truth". But 9 year olds talking about war..that could be a different matter. Does your child watch TV? Will probably see much worse there. So its more of age level is the problem I see. |
