wait...i don't think i was the one that said the kids should be taken out of public schools lol. i think i said the teacher in public schools should teach all sides or teach at a private school where they have the same beliefs and only want to teach one side...but i still stand by what i just said in my post before this too lol

no wanted gore but is it the right for this teacher to pass her beliefs to kids in her class Well as a teacher she has rights to express her OPINIONS but she can only grade on FACTS and a PARENTS you are the most influential person in your child's life. |
as parents, we have the right to say something to the teacher and to the principal about the one sidedness. I want my child to be well rounded. teachers are there to teach
but like what was mentioned before...is it right for a christian teacher to give the opinions to a child raised athiest???? no. that's not their job. they are there to teach and give all sides for better learning. |
the kids take the teachers opinions as facts so i don't agree i just wonder if the teachers opinion would change if her husband or son was in iraq

you saying teachers dont have rights to express their opinions. last i checked this still was a democracy though that fact gets further skewed year after year. i guess most people want everyone to share the same beliefs and ideas. that sounds so communistic we as a society are heading towards that and its kinda scary. Yes we all have our rights to our own opinions but you lose your right when it comes to my child....Its my obligation to instruct my child as I see fit. Actually you loose your right when you send your child to public school. Teachers can say pretty much what ever they want includeing acvtivley and repeatedly refuteing you as the best authority of your child or even being responsible or loving toward them. They can berate your culture, diet, employment, religion, disciplene practices ect. ect as much as they please for 6 hours a day and punish your child if they stick up for you. If a child does something that a teacher does not like the first person a teacher often blames is the parents. Most often the Mother. Even if she does not have economic or education or physical strength to over ride the actions of other family members or society in general. They don't even take responsibility if your child is hurt at school. It is really pretty frightening considering most parents rarely enter the classroom or school campus to have any real idea what is going on. You have no right to segregate your child from or even have other students adentified to you. They, students, can an are mental patients, arsonist, violent convicted felons and sexual predators. Many schools actual have their own security forces. Many public schools are in such absolute disrepair that if they were a home or a cmmercial business they would be condemned. There actually schools in Iraq that are getting more USA funding than public schools here. Pretty frightening. |

i certainly do NOT lose my right because tax dollars pay for the public schools. I lose my right when i don't speak up. it's the same as prayers and religion is taken out of schools or taught all sides. I have every right to go to that teacher and speak with her...if that doesn't work...move up the chain.

IMHO,
Turn back the clock about 20-30 years...pledge of allegiance and prayer in schools, etc. If we had not changed any of that....I think we would be better off...not perfect mind you, but better than we are today... |

pacific...i'm glad my son isn't in that school district that you described. makes me wonder why the parents there can't speak up for their kids
my aunt is a teacher in the public schools here....she's what people would call a "bible thumper" and devote republican...she knows not to use the school system for her own forum. she teaches in public schools but sends her daughter to private christian schools because she wants her kid to lean from a certain belief. again .. tax dollars pay for these teachers so we do NOT give up any rights |

There actually schools in Iraq that are getting more USA funding than public schools here. Pretty frightening. Actually, that is not true.. You have rights as a parent and tax payer to file a complaint.. Teachers do have rules and criteria to comply by... I have had teachers in tears.. It wasn't my choice but I laid it on the line and let the Principal know that it was out of line and not acceptable.. I've won more than one fight with teachers... |

prnc...that's because you are a mean, hateful woman.....2nd to me of course lol lmao.. come on Rose.. I don't give myself kudos very often but really it was b/c the teacher was lazy and thought her credentials made her better than everyone else.. the problem wa she was used to uneducated parents... I just so happened to break the chain and was not intimidated by her nor did I fall for her bs or excuses.. What's left? A broken bullsh*tter with tears... |

i got one for you prnc...my son's kindergarten teacher wanted to have a conference with me and the ex...she sent a letter talking down to us and being rude and trying to act like we were her students (she did it because she thought she was better). my sis had the same problem and my mom (who took the kids to school while we worked) had run ins with her too
I corrected her spelling and grammar errors for her and sent the note back with a reply that we would be there lol. the poor thing was nervous about it lol |

Rose my son's 4th grade teacher tried to tell me that her degress made her better than everyone else.. I told her that her credentials meant nothing to me.. I manage businesses but don't spend my time shuffling kids off b/c I didn't want to deal with taking 5 minures to teach them a make concept which was part of their job criteria.. And I ended it with "IF my son has issues with you or there seem to be, I will be back here in a flash".. Within the hour I got a call from the Principal apologizing that the teacher was out of line but had great credentials... So I asked her what credentials had to do with being a good teacher and person.. It's been 2 yrs I still haven't received an answer...
