OMG heard on the news this morning that is not stopping them they are punching holes in the gas tanks to steal the gas. HUmmmm think I would rather let them have a tank of gas then to have to buy the whole tank and replace it. Yikes. Is that even safe to do? |

Better to let them take the gas in my opinion. I've seen people just break the locking caps too.

syphoning gas has been around for ever.........all you need is a hose and a great sucking mouth

You should always have a decoy with sugar in the gas tank handy though.

believe me i work at a parts store.... Those locking gas caps are a joke... if you want to be absolutely positive that they arent going to steal your gas you would almost either have to move where your filler hose comes out... or fabricate a latch lock on the out side of your gas tank door.....New vehicles are not supposed to be able to siphon... but who knows..
and punchering the gas tank can be dangerous so you can only hope that if some idiot does it to your tank that it blows up due to spark... i think the locking gas cap is more one of those time things... but if the person has the time they break it... |

Mmmm...so when the person punctures the gas tank and makes a spark - boom. Verrry interesting.
Could this happen if they are smoking a cig.? |

My luck, I get a locking gas cap.
And THEN they will CAR-JACK me..... lol |
