I agree with you. If only more people could be happier with who they are...I know I could be, but I'm mostly content ^^

It just saddens me cuz she's never thought like that before. and for once i'm thrown for a loop. Just the other day she was telling me how pretty she thought she looked in this new outfit she bought. and now she's thinking she ugly.

Do you know if a specific event brought on the negative thoughts? Or is it really just out of the blue?

maybe she got shoot down by this guy she thought was all that and a bag of chips. that or bottled up stress is showing itself. hope she turns around!

I wish that was true...but she's not into guys. and she's got her life partner already.

Positive reinforcement, your doing well Brenda. Keep that going and encourage others to do the same, give it a bit and she will either agree with you or give up the "I'm ugly" argument alltogether.

Sometimes the most beautiful people have the worst self esteem. I've seen it among my friends and I don't get it.
Your friend however sounds like she may just be having a bad moment. Sometimes somebody says something negative and we start picking ourselves apart. I'd check on her in a day or so to make sure she's feeling better. Maybe have lunch or drinks.

everyone of us is human, regardless of our perceived attractiveness by others. We all have our moments of feeling very special, and our moments of feeling disgusting. That is what friends are for, to help pick you up when you have been knocked around a bit. i don't blame it on society, it is just human nature.

well sounds like to me that she want to be pretty for some one else and not for her self. some times when we try to make other people happy instead of our selfs we tend to start thinking we r not up to par but if start trying to make our selfs happy and not worry about if u r pretty to some one else then we will be more happy but thats me for me im a good looking person i think and thats what counts.
