Topic: Depression support - part 3 | |
---|---|
Sorry you have to retire. I should have quit when I had my first heart attack when they put the stent in. A friend who worked at the hospital and became an aide told me about this red yeast rice and is helping me to get some. I have been talking to him to see if he can get some natural replacement for Pravachol and Lisinopril. Our nursing home doesn't even have insurance or workmen's comp for us. I tried to get a couple of weeks off since it was the holidays and it was due me but thanks to being short staffed as always they told us, "We can not give time off. Sorry for your inconvenience." If I was my old self before treatment I would have told them I was taking my time off anyways and sorry for their inconvenience.

((TLC)) I am sorry for your loss and know that these kinds of anniversaries are very difficult, but what I do when I think of my Gramma is the good and comforting times. We would have long drives to visit family and when I was young, she would take a small pillow and my head and put it in her lap. Then she would sing to me as I watched the stars go by out the window. I just had to ask why they didn't move.
Some of those memories make me cry, but I always thank God that he made her MY Gramma and put her in my life. Hope you feel better soon. I know it is hard, but feel free to talk to anyone here that you feel comfortable with. Roy has been through some things I tell ya. He is a wealth of help and information. You two seem to have jobs in common. Sorry to hear you are having heart trouble and hope they can get it under control. Take care Karen |

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July.
Roy - I thought it was illegal for a business to not have workman's comp, at least in this state it is. Medical insurance I guess could be easier to side step, but workman's comp is mandatory if you have more than a couple of employees. Sounds like your state doesn't enforce those laws or even have them. I also know about shopping for pants at Wal-Mart, can't find dad pants that are 32 inches long, the longest I can find him are 30 inch, but he wears them and they are okay. Karen - don't worry about your rants - geez, we all have our moments, if we didn't come in here to let off steam, where would we go??? You are a great person with a great heart and I am sorry those guys are turning into such jerks. Maybe it is because you have been talking to me, I swear I am an "azzhole magnet" - nothing but losers in my life, just can't get that damn "kick me" sign off my back, swear the damn thing is tattooed on and is neon too. Some days, I swear. Hope things get better soon. TLC - I hope things get better for you soon. I do understand the anniversary grief also. Just had the 1st anniversary of my brother's death in June and had a hard time. There are lots of good people on this site, just be careful and go slow, so you don't get hurt. The people who post in this thread tend to be good people, we occasionally have an interloper rip through here and get nasty, but not very often. Welcome. Jax - hope things are going better for you. Amber - get to the dentist and get your mouth fixed. Take care and have a great weekend. |

Marie, I think by federal law they would have to have workmen's comp. The right to work law in Arkansas is strong. You can't have a closed shop and that would make a union weak. Basically, we have a nursing home that tries to say that it is a non-profit organization. I wore a pair of 30 inch length pair of pants to work and one of the aides asked me where the flood was.

hi all ive been feeling depressed everyday not for awhile everytime i wake up i just want to cry , im trying to figure out wots wrong with me thanks for listening ![]() Awwww, (((coco))), I'm sorry. I can defiantely identify, as can a lot of others in here. Make an appt with your Dr and maybe they can help you out until you pull out of this funk you are in. Some of us are stuck in this funk for life. Sometimes you might need to take account of what is going on it your life. i hate that one btw.... Sometimes you can pin point what that problem is by talking with someone who knows you well, or just make a list and write a good and bad column. Write the good and bads, then read through it and ask yourself what is good or what is bad, then can you fix it/deal with it or not, then how might you fix the problem. I wish I had better advice for you. Being a vetran psyco, you think I would have better advice ![]() Hugs, karen |

Advise is just that. Advise and I did advise her to go to the Dr so get off your fugging high horse. ive been reading some of your other posts and you seem to have a negative outlook. Prove me worng. It will be my pleasure to see you change up.
Coco, you know that I think you should go to the Dr, but in the mean time I gave you some tips from MY DR to do while you wait for your appt. Counceling can really help if you give it a chance. They can help you to pin point what may be bothering you or help you to figure out if it is a chemical imbalance.....take care Disclaimer: I am not a Dr and have not prescribed anything to anyone, given any adise to self medicate or anyting harmful in anyway. This is the ADVISE topic and the derpession thread. Advise is just that. To be taken or not. No one is forcing anyone to do anything and all advise I personally gave was upbeat, caring and I believe helpful as well as going to the Dr. |

I am depressed due to the death of my husband and son. My husband died 10 yrs ago in Feb and my son will be gone 8 yrs on July 10. Now health problems are keeping me from working so the depression is getting worse. They put me on Lexapro last week but it takes weeks for it to start working. Sometimes I just want to crawl under the covers and never come out. sorry for your losses and a big hug to you.. ![]() |

(((jax))) miss coco, i've been feeling the samw way, but i'm coping by doing what i love to do best (and that happens to be crocheting) |

I just gave my opinion to the best I know .I told her she should see a doctor as depression can be very serious . Who is better than a doctor to treat a patient ?. The two ladies who got carried away either misunderstood me or something else . I am not looking for a fight as I hate any fight let alone a fight with a depressed person . As far as my post , I will carry on giving my opinions if anyone likes them or hate them . Depression is not a joke and that is why I kept emotions away from my responses .I still defend my position that for medical help ,the doctor is the best person to see .

Twice now if you read my responses again you will see that I reomended a Dr and counceling. No fights here, and your remark about especially a depressed person was insulting. I don't think this is the thread for you. If you want to carry on then fine, but you should be more careful how you express yourself in here. |

hi all ive been feeling depressed everyday not for awhile everytime i wake up i just want to cry , im trying to figure out wots wrong with me thanks for listening ![]() Could be you are feeling a lack of intimacy. At a recent meeting a member said that his head was a scary place. It happens at our meetings when we don't share what is going on inside ourselves. Usually when we share what is going on inside our heads we feel at one with the group and a feeling of acceptance comes about. We then feel this okay feeling that it is ok to be who we are. This especially happens to loners that are born again groupies. Some don't even realize that the change has taken effect until they miss the meetings. ![]() |

Bad dreams. Luckily no nightmares but waking up to yourself talking outright is wierd. I don't know why Ive taken to doing that since last year. Ive always talked in my sleep but it was always a soft mumble according to my hubbies. This it like Im having a normal conversation and what makes it wierd is that I wake and just go back to my dream and fall asleep again. Very strange.

Very strange. better than my sister, Karen.....she fights in her sleep Ive been known to kick and swing in my sleep.......hubbies told me about that too, haahhaa. Last guy I was with was huge man....kicked and flayed in his sleep. Nearly kicked my ass every couple of nights. I had to put pillows between us. I just find it very wierd to be dreaming and wake yourself up talking in a normally loud voice and just go back to sleep knowing full well that you woke yourself up talking.....and....go back to the same damned dream and do it again. Strange. |
