They were rude and spoke to us as if it was our fault. It was a horrible experience. I was furious and still am.
Unfortunately a lot of police officers do seem to cop an attitude (no pun intended). Like you say, they often treat victim like as if they are the criminals. The other thing they do is never apologize when the append the wrong person! Twice I was arrested for crimes I had absolutely nothing to do with whatsoever. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. In both cases the cops finally realized they had the wrong man, but instead of apologizing they acted like I was still the guilty party and I was lucky to be set free. WTF??? Once they view you as a criminal I guess they can’t see past that initial impression. Hells bells, when they arrest the wrong person the least they can do is be apologetic about it after they discover THEIR mistake! We certainly need police. But some of them could learn a little better manners when it comes to dealing with victims and wrongly accused people. Wrong place wront time? Shouldnt be in the wrong place as I see it Apologetic for what? They dont know you, either way...You should feel lucky to be set free. If you were not in the wrong?...Take it and simply leave without expecting an apology.... |

I'm almost 100% sure that was misinformation, they have to take all reports, but she was not the party in question - tried explaining to her that as it wasn't her vehicle, they wanted to speak to the owner. jmo

I have an announcement to make......
Police Officers are to keep us safe. SAFE. They have jobs to do and customer service is not one of them. I am laughing because I am from Rhode Island.... I am never ever surprised if people are rude. In fact, I'm often pretty rude myself. |

This makes no sense, sorry but it doesnt... 1: It's not the Police Departments responsibility to get you to the Station..They are not a Taxi 2:..They are right..you cant and shouldnt call, only the owner of the vehicle Sounds like it was illegally parked THis sounds routine...No need to HATE all Cops...You may need one one day |

my step dad was pulled over for speeding (he's a cop...now retired) he never argued that he was speeding and took the ticket. he told the rookie though that he will get a lot further with people and not add fuel to a situation if he had a matter of fact attitude rather than a rude one. it's does happen everywhere for many reasons
just like a doctor in a hospital that hasn't slept etc....doesn't need to come to my bed and be rude....bed side manner lol |

it sounds kinda like you guys made it seem bigger than it was. Yeah ok, the cops were rude, but at least you guys know kinda where the car was. and once you and ur bf showed up, they had a ride to get to the stataion and file a report. Live and let live, The damage most likely will be covered by insurance so relax a bit.
I, for one, love cops, not when i get pulled over though. But the cops around me do alot, and i know them all. |

Really civilians respond to 911 calls where you live? |
