Gotta head in super early, cuz I have CSE meetings first thing and have to print off my IEP's for the meetings. Plus I have to turn around and head across town at 7:45 to drop off my car at the shop, and have my aide pick me up to get back to school. |

I'm so proud of you for printing the IEP's, my son's teachers never do, drives me nuts. We're all busy and then we have to waste time while they find stuff, and read it, etc. Not much fun about the car
How was your weekend?

It's taken two diff. garages to figure out what is wrong w/ it. It sometimes won't start. Can't be jumped....isn't the battery or altinator, and finally AAA came and diagnosed it as the neutral safety switch. So before I head out on Vacation I want it changed.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan! You don't want to be stuck somewhere if it decides to act up, had that happen, it's not much fun. Where you going?

Your son has special needs????? I love teaching SPEC ED..... I tried reg. 6th gr. for a few yrs. and went back to SPEC. ED. I have a tough classroom this yr. A few of the kids are on very strict Behavior Modification Programs. It seems to be working.....so I'm pleased.... They've came a long way!!!

Yeah, he's LD in math and writing and is ADD. Math is coming along very well, he's finally caught up to grade level. He had such an amazing math teacher this year, he has my son actually liking it
He's going to go into a regular classroom next year. As for the writing, they say he'll never progress beyond what he is now, which is about kindergarten level, but he can use a keyboard pretty proficiently so it should be ok.

Yes the key is find interests that will motivate them to learn. I have a few boys who are LD in writing and reading. Hated to write even a sent. lst yr. Now they're writing 2 paragraphs DAILY!!!! Making up the sent.'s on their own even. I'm sooooo proud of them. They love my Flat Stanley project and love writing summaries about what they did w/ Flat Stanley after school.
