Back to OP, case in point. Someone just said something clever on another thread. I perved his profile, decided he was interesting, and sent him an e-mail. Do I expect a response? No. Does that upset me? No. It's just the way of the world.

No. Does that upset me? No. It's just the way of the world. I'm glad you did. I did too, actually. I felt sorta like a seventh grader... passing a note about my friend. Hope you aren't mad.
