I have one child, and don't want another of my own. My son is enough for me to handle. I am not doing it just for the money and I know my body and how I felt being pregnant.

The agency I am going to be dealing with is very professional. They do psychological screenings, background checks, medical histroy screenings...all that stuff. I am still only thinking about it, so Im not saying yes quite yet.
Professionalism is all about business. And they r not going to do those tests for free or social cause..

You see thats the thing..

HellK has had children..she understands that miricle of life..that wonderful ability to have ur own.to carry ur own is the most amazing thing for any woman...

But to have the ability to do it for another...that is the ultimate humanitarian ability and action...of giving... in my eyes...

Emotional..of course it will be...hard to disconnect..again hard...but she would be going into this KNOWING this is not her child....

She will have just given of herself..

With ..all of what she already knows...a great deal of counceling also takes place...

And a beautiful bond from human being to another human being..

This mother and father..man and woman..husband and wife..new found family...wil always be so greatful..to her...

That is the biggest key...to unlocking that door of giving...

being compensated...of course one should...having a baby for another couple...and raising ur own..and working...and having a life...takes a lot physically from one...

The rent has to be paid...

I commend u HellK..for ur venture to even consider this....

happyflowerforyou...

hellkitten, just your consideration to help a couple is wonderful. Some may say the emotional attachement to the baby but you will build attachement with the couple as well. You will not be alone in the process. This is a very sharing, loving act to do. Wow, you are giving life.

I've had over 10 operation for endodemetriosis, leaving me infertile. Its heart breaking. Everytime you get that baby shower invitation you just cringe.

Go for it and god bless you

HellKitten... I say if you are emotionally strong enough and really feel that this is what you want to do then go for it. After of course talking to your bf.

I was asked by my twin sister to consider being a surrogate for her and her hubby. She had endometriosis, had already had 3 miscarriages because of a weak cervix. I told her I didnt know. That I would have to think about it for a while and decide whether or not I could do it. Plus I had to talk to my hubby at the time. When I thought about it I was like. Yes, ok, I can do this for my sister because I love her and want her to be happy. I knew that she would make a wonderful mother. And I would still have been part of the babies life. So we agreed... Then found out a month later that she was pregnant. She carried that baby full term and I didn't have to follow through. Which was a relief.

If it were a family member or a close friend that couldn't carry their own I'd do it for nothing even though it would be hard to give the baby up. It would also depend on if they were going to make good parents. I offered my eggs a few years ago to a close friend who didn't have enough of her own. But she decided to PAY someone else.

You better get some counseling before, during and after...I think this kind of thing can wreck havoc with a woman't emotions...not enough money in the world for me to do it.

I think you just came in late, you automatically get a fee for carrying the baby to term. I know this is a bad example but here goes, company offers, medicines, lab work, you get paid for time and travel for new skin cream that could helps thousands with rare skin condition. Do you refuse the money cause its helping many? Plus its not like she's going to be able to retire on it. The baby is a product of invitro fert. hellkitten is lovely nest to which it gets inplanted.

Such a serious consideration. More power to you if you can do it. I know I'd fall in love with the baby even while it was in utero. brokenheart

I think I could be a serogate...
In fact, I've been trying to give away my kids for years now but no one will take them.
