Yeah, but my point was the even after being show legal documents, they refused to believe. Not sure how else to interpret that tbh.

Ok guys, let me clear this up. First I apologize for generalizing that all Obama opponents are racist. I never meant that.

But I did mean, and I still stand by this, that a significant group that criticizes him, especially some of the top politicians, are less than honest when they deny this being at least in part about his race or ethnicity. Remember the birthers? Even after they were shown legal birth documents they refused to believe it.

Thanks Bunny. I hope I didn't paint myself as a saint. My hands were not wholly clean... I have my faults and I will fully shoulder my part of the blame.

But when a relationship is over, for whatever reason, we must move on.

Relationship are always toxic... With different tastes though

How true, how true. Some overstay for the sake of kids. That was my first marriage. Some because they don't want to believe it's over. That was my second. If you become numb enough, the pain doesn't hurt as much, even if it kills your soul.

There hopefully is a point at which you realize you're dying inside, and you must get out if you're going to survive. Alas, some don't and end up front page news.

Wait no, I think I have someone for him... my ex!

I'd even pay for his trip with the alimony I'd save.

Sorry David, I'd have to disagree. It's circumstantial evidence, true, but very compelling. Republicans got a minuscule percentage of the black vote in the last election. Republicans themselves have gone public in their effort to win back the black vote. It is, if not in whole, at least significantly about race.

Reminds me of the documentaries from the 60's. There weren't many politicians that publicly hated black people, some would even say they had black friends, but invariably supported segregation and fought against any form of integration. You could tell the hatred was there.

You can disguise a political attack as almost anything you want. Like I said, even though his ratings aren't great, they're better than some past presidents in their second term. I'm not saying the guy is great, but I'm also saying he doesn't deserve the all the vilification he's been getting solely based on his performance in office.

To me, those numbers don't add up. So the difference has to be some personal dislike. I can't find anything else that fits other than race.

And that's all I'm going to say about that. ;-)

I think I'll just kick back and get me some popcorn.

My hat's off to you Soufie! If I only had a hat. Them were the days. My memories only stretch back to the 60's though.

Favorite job: gas station attendant. The pay sucked, but oh man, what interesting people came through! And I survived a holdup to boot, lol.

Actually an incorporated city, just like a business, can be sued as an entity. This has already been established by the supreme court and forms the basis on which PAC's can donate huge amounts of money circumventing the limits on campaign contributions.

You know, I have so hard tried to avoid thinking that, but over the years it's getting too hard to.

Now, yes, I voted for him. Yes, I'm disappointed with him on many levels. But really, I have never seen the republican party so incensed and so hell bent to put the man down... not even with Bill Clinton. And I hated Clinton.

Now I'm not going to name republican names but I can think of several who have done way worse than Obama. And not gotten near as much vitriol from democrats.

I personally think that article is not thought provoking but rather intended to polarize political views.

Obama joins 12 other presidents who never served in the military, including some of our founding fathers.

Same with the rest. Those are qualifications that various of our presidents lacked or lack. And most of them did ok.

In fact, I believe Nixon would fill most of those qualifications, and he was a disgrace as a president. Sorry, but it's the truth.

Actually, I do have a bone to pick with IQ tests.

As you say Leigh, it tests problem solving skills and other similar cognitive skills.

But tbh those cognitive skills do change over time with learning and so on. The best an IQ test can tell you is the potential you have at that given time in your life. And because the test is timed, it only measures relative speed in performing certain cognitive tasks. There are deep thinkers and there are fast thinkers.

So who would you think is smarter? The guy who thinks fast on his feet or the guy that chews on a thought for a while? I'd say both are just as smart... the tortoise and the rabbit, you might say. ;-)

I did forget to add one thing. The very inventor of the IQ test didn't believe intelligence was fixed nor that the test should be applied to the general population as a way of ranking them mentally. Here's a quick blurb on that:

I too would say I hate haters... but then I'd hate myself.

And no one would talk to me.

Then I'd become a world hating recluse.

And change my name to Ted Kaczynski.

Thank you neighbors!

Yes I am a bit of a chatterbox, can't stay away from a good discussion.

So expect more sarcastic, semi intellectual and just plain silly posts from me. ;-)

And in the meantime I'll try to learn and remember that I can use that link on the left for smileys lol.
