"You must have a no chemical diet Jean, you look very healthy."
Does PapaJohn's and McDonald's count? LOL...thank you. I try to eat "right" most of the time, but I eat just about everything. It's hard going organic..sooo expensive. I take vitamins, though, and Omega 3-6 complex. Have tried some soy products and wondering how much benefit there is to that. You look fabulous! Could you give us an idea of what a "no-chemical" diet consists of? Are u talking nothing but fresh produce, for the most part, without use of pesticides, etc.? Thanks! **** wow jeanc if i am the wildflower you were referring to I thank you for the compliment. Yes, u are, and it is well-deserved. *** I think that in my life the 40's have been the best. You really start to put things into perspective and not sweat the small stuff anymore. Except for the sweat of hot flashes...geesh! LOL. *** The 50's are creeping up fast but from what I hear they are even better. Hugs to all ... As of June 2, I've got one more year to go before I hit the 50 mark. Now, more than ever before, my health and apperance are important to me. We don't stay young forever but no one says we have to age "gracefully." I plan to fight it "tooth and nail," in that it does take diligence at our age to keep a youthful appearance. Skin care, staying out of the sun, diet, exercise, etc. One product I tried I really love is Hydroderm. It's too expensive for me to get it on a regular basis but I highly recommend it. It makes your skin absolutely radiant! (No, they're not paying me to say that...lol). |

thank you...well, it's not a completely unselfish act, I must say.
Mainly the reason I do it is for exercise, and because it keeps the cul-de-sac looking nice and keeps mosquitos under control, etc. The house is unoccupied and the man who owns it is an old Egyptian man who doesn't speak very good English. He almost never comes around, but he's got the house up for sale and keeping the yard cut is doing him a huge favor, too. His house is the one on the corner, so tall grass would really detract from the neatness of the cul-de-sac, so that's another reason I do it. |

Well, I've been lucky, I guess. I drank like a fish and smoked like a
salmon ..no wait, not smoked salmon..smoked like a chimney--yeah, that's it! -- for over 30 years and have had to deal with debilitating panic attacks off and on since I was 14 and have come out relatively physically unscathed from the experience. |

...a trend of women in their 40s and beyond looking younger and
healthier these days than in past decades? I was just looking at Wildflower's pics ..you're 49??? No way!! Geez! Also wildflowerjj, and many others here whose names escape me right now. Are women taking better care of themselves these days? Has our water system tapped into the fountain of youth? I don't know, but there sure seems to be a lot of "older" women on here (and elsewhere) who sure do look DAMN GOOD "for their age!" Cheers! |

I mow the huge lawn of the house next door to me everytime I mow my own,
which is about once a week. Don't get paid for it, either. |

Of course she doesn't, SH, and good morning to you, too!
GEHC, I wasn't nitpicking at you personally...lots of people use the term "mistake" when referring to such things. |

I agree, too, and I also have to question calling cheating a "mistake."
Mistakes are, like, when you accidentally "color outside the lines." Just how does one accidentally "cheat?" It's not a "mistake." I mean, a man doesn't trip and fall and next thing you know --shades of "Oh, my, how did this happen?" -- and finds his you-know-what is buried you-know-where... |

"This person is looking to you for "advice" WRONG! this person wants you
to say it's ok honey.. well don't do it!.." Not my daughter! She knows better! I don't sugarcoat anything for anyone, least of all her! She knows full well my feelings on the subject (as well as others) and knows what would be "coming to her" if she confided in me about it. My straightforwardness with her is quite welcome, though, because she confides in me about everything. |

And where are all the 'cheaters are scum' screamers now?
*** I believe that cheaters are scum, even if it's my own daughter. She would never cheat on her husband, however, but, if she did, I would have a talk with her about it, for sure. She wasn't raised to behave that way. I wouldn't tell her husband, because that's her place to do that, not mine. However, although I abhor cheating, I won't break someone's confidence in me, ESPECIALLY not my daughter's. But I do have my limitations on that, too. If someone confided in me that they had committed murder, for instance, I'd definitely turn them in to the police. |

If my daughter confided in me, would I tell my son-in-law? Oh, HAIL no!
But I'd have a very serious talk with her about how, if she's unhappy enough to have an affair, then it's time to think about divorce. Either that or some serious introspection and possible counseling. |

"Well my pops always said the younger generations grow up in more
diversity and are used to different races. Especially urban areas. So I guess it will keep getting better unless the parents poison their children with prejudice." BC, I agree to an extent, that there definitely is more diversity and that that contributes to better understanding and acceptance. But I grew up as a child of the '60s and I lived in a Los Angeles suburb that was racially mixed, predominantly with a combination of Caucasians and Hispanics. Unless I went to Los Angeles for a doctor's appointment or to the zoo or whatever, in my town (Glendale) it was a very rare thing to see a Black person. I laugh when I think back now at how, when I visited the beach, I used to think all the black people there were visiting from Africa! But anyway...it wasn't until 1970 when we moved to Nashville that I heard the "N" word. Not until that time did I ever hear any derogatory remark like that about a person. I could tell by the way people were saying it that it wasn't a "good" thing, so I asked them what a "n" was. They said a "black person." I was really confused. I said why would you call a person names just because of the color of their skin? I was only 12 years old. Now, I'm almost 49, and I STILL don't "get it." |

MSN and Yahoo, and I like Yahoo far better than MSN. Yahoo's emoticons
are cuter. LOL. But Yahoo does have technical issues fairly often, which can get rather annoying. |
