A solid relationship has both love and lust. I don't think a relationship can last unless both feelings are present.
Lust is fleeting; you also need deep love. Love can fade into apathy unless you also lust your partner and want to rip their clothes off everyday and do naughty things to them. 
Each feeling fosters the other. When lust fades a little, love can bring back the spark. If love is lessening, a good romp in the hay can restore things too. Sometimes we "think" too much, and over analyze very simple solutions. The third element to solidify a relationship is COMMITMENT. Some people give up too easily or give into the "grass is always greener" myth. You need each equally.
