I tell them to fix their problems instead of telling me about them day after day, then choose to ignore them til they do.

Don't start off on something too big is my first advice - like getting an R1 or GSXR 1000 for your first bike. They're too fast for beginners. Actually cruisers and standard bikes are best for learning.

Second, get all the proper gear with your bike; figure that into your budget. And don't ride without it!!! If you'd like, I can show you pictures of what happens when you don't wear it.

Third, take a training course. Spending a couple hundred learning to ride someone else's bike is a lot cheaper than crashing your own.

And 4th, good luck on your exams.
