If the president of another country came here and I threw a shoe at him, I'd be arrested for assault and likely jailed for an extended period - in my own country. Why should he be treated any different? Because his ideology doesn't align? That's just being childish Well andrewAV, I night have been a little hasty... Are you aware that he is an Iraqi Citizen? Are you aware of what is happening in Iraq? |

That's just being childish Well andrewAV, I believe that first another country would have to invade America, killing thousands of Americans or more. Of course they would be justifying their actions in the name of their beliefs. Then they would build military bases here,(occupy), and attemp to change our sociopolitical system to theirs. Then when their Dictator visited our occupied country, and only then, you could make an equal comparison. Until that happens, I believe you're comparing apples amd bananas. |

Awwww BEEORGANIC, ya' mean I gaotta stay home this weekend and do all of this crap instead of going snowboardin' in Lake Tahoe? And what the heck is a gainful employment anyway, is that kinda like my trust fund or more like a beekeeper? Not at all, have fun on the hills. You could use a magic marker (hopefully benzene free for your own safety's sake) scratch that... (to err on the side of caution better make it non-toxic water based finger paints instead) to inscribe the words "Free Muntadhar al-Zeidi" on the back of your jacket. People can see your message whilst hittin' the slopes. You might attract some followers there(until the effects of the THC wears off). Someone of your obvious zeal, passion, and deep reasoning skills might even consider a tattoo of al-Zeidi on your forehead. I would suggest you first consult with your deity of choice though... WWJSD (What Would Jeff Spicoli Do)? Whatever your choice of action, I'm confident it will be reflective of his profound inspiration/actions. Very, very, very good question as per inquiring about gainful employment! In order to reply in a fashion/manner I believe you might optimally comprehend, I first must consult with an online version of the "Beavis and Butt-Head" dictionary/thesaurus and combination nachos cookbook" for the proper translations. In the meantime, be safe and enjoy the slopes. Normally I would encourage anyone participating is activities such as snowboarding to wear a helmet; However, in your case I don't believe it would be of any benefit. Bee, I think mebbe yer' a lil' bit too reclusive there. While you were studying biochemistry and physics, I think ya' shoulda' taken a geography class and an art/fingerpainting class as well. 'Cause 1 Here in californication, unlike ill-annoy, we ski/board down mountains, not hills. 2 Most gradeschool children are already aware that water based paint on a jacket in the snow, is a stupid idea. 3 Tha' THC never wears off when yer' smokin' like me! 4 Tatoos are for girls to decorate their body, and boys trying to act tough. 5 A deity is a supernatural immortal being,(Yeah Right!), and if you really believe a supernatural immortal being exsists, I believe that the mental healthcare providers will have enough time to find a vacant padded room. Where I come from, only children have little imaginary friends. Last' but by no means least! I can only guess you were absentmindedly typing very,(3 times), while you attempted to formulate a witty response to my gainful employment inquery? Never materialized in the grey matter eh? Ya' gotta go reference sum' dicyionary or another just ta' answer ma' question,(guess that's another class you should've attended), was it really that difficult? P.S. I thought you studied physics? Wearing a helmet adds weight to your cranium, therefore seeking the ground faster! Besides helmets are for fearful type folks, and I have no fear of anything! |

FREE Muntadhar al-Zeidi, the journalist whom just received a 3 year sentence for throwing his shoes at Dictator George W. Bush. For those of you not familiar with the coustom, throwing shoes at someone is the worst possible insult in the Arab world. I believe his actions are completely justified and he should not only be set free, but also receive a medal for his courage. What do you think? I believe the poster of this topic should start a petition drive. Call all relevant leaders/groups/organizations that could assist in this matter. Start a webpage blogging about this. Call all news agencies and radio talk shows demanding his release. Write president Obama begging for his intervention. Print posters, t-shirts, and coffee mugs saying "Free Muntadhar al-Zeidi". Rally friends and neighbors to protest nude at the local courthouse (a la PETA members). Make symbolic "Muntadhar al-Zeidi" freedom medals and/or ribbons and distribute them at the local college campus. Get a booth at the local mall selling "freedom beads" and balloons with the image if al- Zeidi printed on them. Hold daily Muntadhar al-Zeidi awareness seminars at the park. Have a shoe throwing (dunk style tank) at the local fair/carnival using a Bush mannequin and shoes donated by Nike. These suggestions should either give mental healthcare providers enough time to find a vacant padded room or provide the poster with gainful employment. Awwww BEEORGANIC, ya' mean I gaotta stay home this weekend and do all of this crap instead of going snowboardin' in Lake Tahoe? keep the guy locked up just for lack of cleverness. a shoe? really? oh no, not a shoe! if what he did is so insulting then it seems like the cultural equivalent of a colonial american farting in the presence of and flicking a booger at king george III. i don't care if it's considered some great insult. a bullet still makes a better statement. that would make him a hero instead of just a punk. let's not forget that this dude also insults his own people by acting like an hooligan. grow up, peter pan. Maybe we should forget... His people are hailing him as a hero. |

What? Am I the only one that believes in "love at first sight"... I do actually.. Its what happens after that? What will determine all the rest between two people..... okay so I am a die hard romantic... Your right on the money dirtyduck! And you are not alone. |

Can you fall in love by just how a person looks? It appears to me as if some folks didn't understand the question or they are not very familiuar with the diffrences between "love" and "In Love". Being "In Love",(as stated in this posting), is defined as romantic infatuation and of course it is very possible to become instantly infatuated. "Love" of someone,(such as your mother), on the other hand is quite different. |

I don't see this as a good thing! Actually, it's more like the Education System would/is being used as a "baby sitter" for the parents! Well theresmyfriend, I dunno where you live but in my little hometown of Los Angeles, California, the,(usually foreigners), babysitters have been raising the children,(kids are baby goats), of untold numbers of families,(especially affluent), for years now. I think many families in Malibu, Ca. will be delighted to hear that in the future they may be receiving expanded "babysitting" services. |

Oboma is just doing what the Kennedys tell him to do, he is nothing but a Kennedy puppet! We have heard all this before, don't you remember that the man that promised this crap the first time took a bullet in a convertable? Come on, I can't be the only one who sees this?! Can I? Well 35papasmurf73, you're right on the money,(literally). Why some people here are commenting that this is another promise kept stupifies me, this is only a proposal that has not yet been enacted,(and most likely won't). I am amazed by people that fawn over our new president as if he is actually "For the People" and not for the money! Big money has dictated the course of this country for decades now and if anyone thinks that puppet-Bama is going to start relieving the special interest groups of their privileges, they should seek therapy. Please do not misconstrue this statement as racist, but the only thing that has changed in "Washington", is the color of the president, nothing else. |

Not entirely. Facebook is what is called a "social-networking site", where people put up profiles to "network socially". Mingle2 is an online-dating site, where people put profiles to "date online". There's a big difference there, you know? How do you date online? |

Warmachine, I appreciate your concise, well written article.
I am constantly torn though, between appreciating the informative news of how our (un)United States politicians are "having their way" with the gullible citizens of this country,(and others), and not wanting to know the horrors of the criminal activities of our government. Information is power, but now because of 9/11( an obvious false flag op.), our government can sight any action, no matter how large or small,(spitting on a person or property), as a "terrorist threat". Thus through fear and intimidation,( or discrediting the information altogether as a "conspiracy theory"), rendering the average citizen to be virtually powerless, (regardless of the information they posess), to "accuse" the criminals,(politicians), of any wrongdoing. The "terrorists" in this world that scare the hell out of me are our government and the people in this country,(USA),that are supporting the beliefs of our "elected",(yeah right), evil* politicians. It's such a shame that Democracy in this country has become a mask for Fascism. * I don't believe all politicians are evil...or at least I keep telling myself that. |
