To the believers, how many times have you actually prayed and whatever it was you were praying for happened?

To me, if prayer worked, don't you think that people with cancer would be healed? Suffering children wouldn't suffer?

Discuss!

I don't want bible verses thrown about in this thread. I want this to be strictly YOUR views.

My apologies. Yes I have had prayers answered many times. I have needed a job, prayed and got one; I saw my daughter get healed before my eyes when she was a child and had broken her nose; I have prayed for forgiveness and peace and felt a peace like never before; but I cannot prove any of these things. Neither can I prove there is wind. We only see the results of it. I will not bother you any more since you say you will always be a non-believer. That may not be a prayer, but I can assure you that God will honor it if that is your choice.

I just recently lost my wife to cancer. We believed that God could heal her but she passed away. Now I could shake my fist at God and scream WHY?! but that would probably do nothing more than echo back to me. If you look at a picture of something taken from an airplane and then compare it to a picture of the earth taken from outer space, you begin to see how God sees things. We use our senses to evaluate what is going on around our own lives. God sees the entire picture, not just us. Who am I to argue with what was best for my wife? As one person said, bad things happen to good people. To begin to understand any of this you must first be willing to acknowledge God for what he is, all powerful, and turn your life over to him no matter what comes your way. His main concern, as someone stated, is for the salvation of our souls so that one day we may be with Him. That is why we were created in the first place. He wants our love, friendship, and trust just as we do with each other. I hope this helps.
