Let's just make it simple.
Take friendship out of the equation for one minute, because if they are truely your friends they will respect the any decision you make. If this was a job would you quit? Room and board to be a live in housekeeper/nanny. If the answer is yes, leave. Find a "job" that you are happy with. If the answer is no, then i hope you find peace with "YOUR" choice. In the end, you make the call. It's your life, not ours. |

I'm getting email from guys asking if I want to chat with them. Cool, but the emails don't say anything else and most of their blogs don't say anything else. In a bar men ask to chat and if they're cute then hell yea I chat but here I imagined getting emails with some information about the guy or a witty joke or something. I don't know how to respond to these messages. I can't just chat with a dozen guys everyday because I do have other things to do. When I tried saying, thanks but I don't think we'd work out, I get the response, how do you know if we don't chat? I was wondering how the other women of mingle2 handled these messages? Do you just ignore them or send them one note? What if they are posting on the forums is that different? I want to be polite but I'm not attached to this computer 24/7. Guys, I already know your ideas but sorry, I can't sleep with every guy who emails. My bed is not that big. Not really about being polite, it just about setting parameters you are comfortable with. The one-liners you get... respond with a one liner back, people usually get the hint. As far as offers to chat why bother? I don't even use IM with anyone till i have exchanged 3 or 4 emails getting to know them. You can deal with the cyber offers how you see fit depending on your mood. I use the old " not into cold showers or dirty keyboards atm, but thanks." Well i'm still kinda of new here so maybe that's why i get so much mail still.. something new. Best of luck with everything.

You say its 1952 but let me tell you a lot of women think the way I have expressed above.............I am independent but when it comes to courting someone I think that it starts with the man.........I dont have anything against paying but the man has the burden........and I dont care if im in 2067 I will not open my pockets when a man asks me out period.............Now if he is my man best believe when I have it he has it and vise versa...........but for a guy looking to get to know me...............lol YOUR PAYING So then the question becomes, if you ask him out? Or is that taboo to you also? |

Really it's a simple answer:
If you are concerned with money while in the dating stages of a relationship to the degree of who is picking up a 50 dollar dinner bill or a 10 dollar movie ticket.. get out. The level of interest isn't there. You will find when you are with the "right" person, little things like that don't matter. As far as how i currently date, i always pay for the first date. Based on interest level if i ask her out again, i again pay.. if she asks me out, she usually pays. Maybe i'm different but someone with a little independence is sexy to me. I don't want or need a puppy as a mate. As far as past long term relationships, you will find things tend to even out in different ways. Oh and for the women that say they should NEVER PAY ... <----------1952 that way. Hello welcome to 2009, hope you enjoy the stay.

Get out of that situation immediately. They're taking advantage of you and you're letting them. They are taking you for granted and not even bothering to hide the fact. Don't let them use you. They aren't paying you right? Yr not their employee, right? Slavery has been abolished right? You have free will. Use it  
Even if it doesn't say that... or even if it's not that way, i would say it's time she invested time into her own life. Time to make a path in life for herself and figure out what makes "her" happy. Seems she has spent enough of her life looking out for others and what makes them happy. |

Hi, My name is Thadd and I live in central Ohio. I am a country-oriented guy who loves the outdoor when things are green and warm, not freezing and white. So January is not my favorite month. I love to read, write, go to movies, ride horseback, take hikes, shop, go to different towns, concerts, roller coasters and just be a friend to someone who is a friend.
