Happy Monday, all!

It's nice to see some regular posting! I keep saying I'm going to be more active but life keeps getting in the way.

Has anyone ventured to the Taste? Just wondered if it's worth the effort this year. Contemplating it but not sure I want to brave the crowds...

I feel like I should cover my eyes. I just can't look away, though!

At first messages like that were comical. But then I started receiving quite a few. How pathetic! I don't understand what makes them think these things are okay.

There are some nice guys around. You just have to weed through the jerks first. It's worth the time and effort.

I don't know. I think you just have to keep an open mind. I've made some really wonderful friends from online sites. I've dated some guys from online sites. My current guy is from MySpace of all places. I think the important thing, as others have said, is to be true to yourself but also keep an open mind.

Whatever it is you desire in life, make it a goal. Work towards it. It'll happen.

In the meanwhile... there are loads of amazing people here. Just have fun!

I like the site. It's not so bad. The posting in Chicago is a bit slow
but the people are interesting. Tons of good conversations and fun to be
had here. Also, I enjoy just looking at people's pictures. It's like
online people watching. You never know what you'll see!

Has she not told you were they're moving to? That seems odd.

I'm back... not that it helps much but one more post is one more post.

I would ask if anything interesting has happened since I've been gone
but I think I know the answer.

Such a work-a-holic... I hope you take time for fun every once in a
while. It was a busy weekend and now I'm home sick in bed.
It's absolutely gorgeous outside and I'm curled up under a mound of
blankets wearing fleece pajamas. Stupid germs!


Anyway, someone needs to be out enjoying the weather!

I've been staring out my window all day and I have yet to see your
blazer... Guess you're not hanging out in the 'burbs... oh well.

Doing anything fun this weekend? I hear it's supposed to warm up.

Thanks for the encouragement, Lex. I'll check them out. I do enjoy
reading your writing. How does one find other posts by a particular
person?

Oddly enough, there are quite a few people on JSH looking for casual
encounters and other "naughty" things. Maybe someone just needs to make
a naughty thread for them to hang out in.

I don't care either way. Who am I to judge? To each his own. Good luck,

Lex - You're right, it is very odd that she would disappear. I don't
know why people join sites but refuse to participate. I suspect many
people are rather lazy (that's totally going to offend a bunch of people
but oh well) and they're just looking for an easy way to meet people. I
don't think they realize that even in the online world it's work.

When I first joined JSH... well, okay to be honest, when I first joined,
I did absolutely nothing with my profile, in fact I forgot I had even
created the account. But when I rediscovered my JSH, I didn't really
know much about the site and it took me a bit to find the forums. I
still haven't ventured far from the Chicago group. To be honest, some of
the other boards frighten me. I've never had much of an intellectual
conversation in any forum titled "Relationships" or anything of the
sort. I'm a bit nervous to take a look around. Right now my time is
quite limited with school. As soon as it's over though, I think I'll be
posting quite a bit more.

I hope your mystery lady returns. Maybe there was just an issue in her
life she needed to attend to but she'll return when it's resolved.

Lately, I lack creativity. My brain is rather fried or I'd start a few
threads myself. It's the best way to get out there, indeed.

Hopefully more people will post. It does make it far more interesting.

I was kind of curious about the boards myself. I came from another site
where people posted all the time. It was quite lively. I figured since
Chicago had it's own section of the forums there'd be more here. Boy was
I wrong! I don't have much time to post and hang out but I check the
Chicago boards from time to time.

So, seriously, what's the deal with the Bean? I've walked past it a
couple times. Why do we have a big metal bean? I do really enjoy the
fountains though! I can't wait for summer! I plan on walking around the
city and taking tons of photos.

Well I'm dying to know. Did you two hook up or what?

I see your point, LexFonteyne. Well stated. I don't have an answer. I
can only theorize. Perhaps chatting with someone local is too scary for
some. Some people like the idea of dating/networking sites but when it
comes down to actually having a relationship (any kind of relationship,
not specifically sexual in nature) it frightens them. People often feel
at ease being open with strangers with whom there is little chance of
ever meeting or really connecting with. Perhaps they just feel safer
with the long distance communications. I'm not sure. I'm curious to know
if those contacting you from other states ever contact people local to
them.

And that's my two cents for the evening.

Sherry, if it's any consolation, I think you have a sweet smile and you
sound pretty cool. If I were a guy, I'd take you out! Just hang in
there. It's tough but I have faith that the right one will be worth the
wait!

And,Pwillow... Canadian women? C'mon! Chicago is full of hotties! Damn
Canadians keep trying to steal our men!
