Although your poem is well written and points to a sad truth for some, I prefer to bend, not break! Good for you! Have faith and bend towards the light. |

Unfortunately there is a lot of truth in your poem, but there is still hope in the land. Maybe. Yeah, maybe there is hope. |

We are For the most part Broken and hurt Torn and weather beaten Like the ripped sails of a storm ravaged ship Look at us The whole lot of us Milling around open campfires of despondency Seeking warmth from the cold winds of failed promises Perhaps, just perhaps If we put on facades of smiling faces and speak glowingly of how wonderful we are We just might get the attention of another broken soul To keep us company in a sad, broken world. Wow . . . love it Thank you. |

I am afraid of dating
|
|
True, true. I'm afraid of dating but addicted to dating sites. Oh! The irony! It isn't irony, it is a sign of the times. Welcome to "1984". Everybody eating their feel good pills and a whole generation or two who spend so much time on "social media" that they have become the epitome of antisocial. A world of people who would rather type "dirty talk" and exchange naked pictures on a phone or computer while masturbating than form an actual relationship with another person. Keep your digital sex ( two puns in one!). I prefer live intercourse, both social and sexual. As a matter of fact, I don't really like this form of interaction, but it sure beats meeting drunken women in beer joints. And if you try and strike up a conversation you are going to be beaten out by their interest in their smart phone. IRONY is that they may be chatting on mingle2! Spot on! Ever since technology offered to make our social lives easier, we have been on a downward spiral of confusion and detachment from reality. I fear what the year 2084 will look like. |

I am afraid of dating. Too many rules. Too much complexity. It's all a game. Playing hide and seek until we are 'found' And when we are found, we become insecure because we are afraid our nakedness has made us vulnerable. Lust and sex has replaced companionship and friendship. What are we looking for? Do we really need 'someone' to make us happy? I am tired. I am afraid of dating. you've come here from craigslist haven't you? Actually, no. Did you migrate from craigslist? |

Everyone is fearful, everyone is insecure. I went out with a model once, she was beautiful, articulate, sexy, educated and a friggin' mess. They stuff like- "oh, that snake/spider, etc is more afraid of you than you are of it"; once you realize that, its not scary. Except for the cooties True |

Well if they play games with you...just play along with them. Life is too short, enjoy and play safe is all you can do now a days I guess. Because is not perfect woman/men out there. Best advice so far. Thanks a bunch. |

Erm, yeah. You're on a actual dating site. You might wanna delete your profile then, if you're this worried. As it would be a waste of time staying. True, true. I'm afraid of dating but addicted to dating sites. Oh! The irony! |
