requiring government ID cards is redundant and just keeps legal citizens from voting.
Thus making it more convenient for illegal immigrants to vote. Only in America. Verifying identification and citizenship is necessary for voting in elections. No chance illegal immigrants can register to vote in California. Without their birth records in the databases, they instantly get flagged as ineligible. While they could go to polling stations and cast provisional ballots, those ballots wouldn't pass validation or get counted, and casting those votes is a crime, so they'd be putting themselves at further legal risk for a statistically insignificant vote. Not only in America. I'm sure other countries have similarly advanced computer networks, like in Germany and Japan. The argument that having a government issued ID is racist and it disfranchised minorities at the pollings booth begs the question why are they millions of persons without an ID that the only way to rectify that issue is mail-in-ballots? |

In 2022, Zelensky proposed a peace plan, a series of peace plans and was encouraged by the West to keep fighting for its sovereignty that if he wanted to go on fighting Russia, he will have their support. As long as the gravy train was running (America), Europe would be fighting an endless war with Russia. Granted Russia miscalculated the length of the invasion but at the end of the day, Ukraine was used by the West against Russia and all it got out of it is a worn torn country.
Yes, the West is supporting Ukraine, but for more than just weakening Russia. It's supporting a democracy in a region where there are too many authoritarians and socialist states. Supporting Ukraine leads China to believe that the West could support Taiwan in a military conflict. Also the West gets valuable military intelligence on weapons development and Russia (and China)'s military capabilities. We see how good Iran's drones and North Korea's artillery are, too. We assess their communications and tactics. In short, they're awful, and we can see that. But this is not simply a proxy war, and we'd all like to see it ended soon, but good luck getting Putin to stop with anything less than all that he has taken so far, and not have to pay any reparations. You have just proven the intent of the military industrial complex. A month's war serves no one but 2 years of war feeds everyone. As long as the war continues "the West gets valuable military intelligence on weapons development and Russia (and China) 's military capabilities. We see how good Iran's drones and North Korea's artillery are, too. We assess their communications and tactics...", and the only outcome will either Ukraine will be decimated or a stalemate which we are at now for over a year while millions of men continue to died on the battlefield and by the way China already knows the US will come to Taiwan's aid if there is military conflict. They aren't deter by the West helping Ukraine. Asking Putin to give up territory is like beating a dead horse. Not going to happen. Putin will bankrupt his country first with this war before retreating from occupied territory.Meanwhile Ukraine will continue to drain the coffers of the West. If Putin is open to peace talks including Zelensky the conflict will end, if Zelensky is adamant to continue fighting on the advice of the warmongers Russia will continue fighting. Anyone thinking Ukraine stands a chance defeating Russia is living a piped dream. |

Zelensky was on the right track when he wanted to end the war from the outset but was advised by Boris Johnson and other warmongers not to. Just so that the West would fight Russia, using Ukraine as it's proxy while dangling a NATO entry carrot in from of Zelensky. At the end of the day, he gamble big and lost. Not at all what happened. Back in February '22, before Russia invaded, Zelensky worked to negotiate security agreements from Russia and NATO countries, while Russia was insisting that they weren't going to invade (pay no attention to their forces gathering near the borders) and Biden flat-out exposed everything to make it clear Russia was going to invade. There was no pressure from the West for Ukraine to fight Russia. Back then, everybody assumed Russia would roll over Ukrainian forces and take the entire country in a few days. The West famously offered to get Zelensky out of there--a flight out of the country, and he said "I need ammunition, not a ride!" edition.cnn.com/2022/02/26/europe/ukraine-zelensky-evacuation-intl/index.html In 2022, Zelensky proposed a peace plan, a series of peace plans and was encouraged by the West to keep fighting for its sovereignty that if he wanted to go on fighting Russia, he will have their support. 5) Moderators to listen to customer queries and complaints is a must, and I envisage they would be a volunteers, voted into position by the website members
One of the main issues I have had on here when I was sign out was though a reset password option was available it didn't work. Nothing was sending to my inbox. Password couldn't be reset automatically or manually. Had to create a new account. That can be discouraging to some folks. |

Back home, decades ago a former PM lay off many government workers and with a 8% cut across the board ignited fury among the unions, the Opposition and the country. Many marches and protests later, the unemployment rate skyrocketed. Years later after the dust has settled down, it was noted that the PM did what was needed to save the economy with its ballooning debt. He also knew he was committing political suicide but he put the country first to save it from crashing.
I see what Trump is doing in the same light. Saving an economy that is in dire straits with a declining dollar and a ballooning 35+T debt by performing open heart surgery. Painful but needed. Successive governments and presidents just prefer to sweep the nagging economic issues under the rug and passing on the responsibility to the next administration while just printing their way out. Granted the layoffs are coming at a head spinning turn and DOGE may need to slow down a bit but time is short. Trump is avoiding an economic cash or alternatively conducting a controlled crash where the government is in control and not the financial sector. Either way there will be a crash. We already know he was going to trim the fat. Trump has nothing to lose. He has no one to please. He is old school who wants to place America on the world map again as a great nation and doing what needs to be done to get the job done. Most of the lay off workers are probationary. Less than 2 years on the job. Those are always the first to go. Secondly, none of the articles mentioned any aviation workers. Were there mass layoffs in that department? Thirdly, there is no Trump/Musk administration. There is a Trump/Vance administration. Musk is a contractor overseeing a department named DOGE to audit government departments, receiving his directives from Trump, relating his instructions to his research team and reporting his findings to his boss. How can the public be against what they are doing when Trump has a high approval rating? The efficiency is one of the issues the general public voted for. The Democrats do not represent the public but a section of the public. |

"A lot was also completely trashed by the Red Khmer in the 70s?!!!
And after their regime fell many poor Cambodians and/or former Red Khmer child soldiers knicked what remained to sell it. They didn't give a rip about the works as they often just broke them off their stands, leaving carved feet and hands etc. behind. I was almost in tears when I saw that, the destruction and disrespect of it all". ***I don't think they had much of a choice. It's called survival. "We arrogant Caucasians tend(ed) to think of such cultures as primitive but this is no way primitive"! ***Modern structures are nothing compared to Old World architecture. I admired those structures for their beauty, aesthetics, life, craftsmanship and of course being long lasting. Today architecture is just plain ugly, lifeless, cold and hard and of course crumbling after 50 years if so long. Yet modern man keep boasting how smart and wise they are! "This was Cambodia but such practises have occurred worldwide. Greed & money & ego". ***Unfortunately... |

Honestly, I am not able to grasp “forever”. It’s much easier for me to say I’d like to live ...longer. Let’s say aging slows down and we are able to live to say 200, I’d go for that. While the world holds much to explore, it’s really my kids and grandbabies that bring me the most joy and to share the world a little longer with them would be utopia for me. From a Christian perspective, there will be a time in the future refer to as the Millennium where humans beings will have longevity, living for a couple hundred years. Life under 100 years will be consider a curse. Eternity follows when the nations are judge and the world is cleansed. |

The only thing that scares me more than death is the thought of eternal life. That idea totally terrifies me. Everything eventually dies, not even the stars are eternal. Our own sun will eventually burn out, so any eternal humans will have to find another planet orbiting another star, until that star either burns out, or explodes in a supernova. And then, we will have to find another place to go, moving from planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy over billions of years, until there's nowhere left. According to the second law of thermodynamics, which is the foundation of modern physics, disorder (entropy) increases with time. That means the universe is expanding, getting colder, and it will eventually be a cold dead void, with no stars providing heat and light. The expanding universe is not a theory, it has been confirmed beyond any doubt by astronomical observations of the red shift and measurement of the cosmic microwave background. And, if we do manage to hang around for the final act, then what the hell are we going to do with nowhere left to go? We are eventually going to die anyway, so why prolong the inevitable. The cycle of life and death is what powers evolution, if we interfere with that, then the human race will stop evolving and stagnate. My personal belief is that the human mind and body are incapable of going on indefinitely, even if it turns out to be possible. And, supernatural ideas about us having an immortal soul are just speculation in my opinion. I'm not signing up for anybody's idea about a life after death that doesn't include a physical living body, and no physical living body can outlive the universe. As far as I'm concerned, what we do with the time we have on earth, is much more important than how much time we have. Death is not to be feared, death is what makes life precious. Everything connected to eternity is eternal. So eternal beings do not have wait for the final act, nor for the universe or planets to dwindle or die or burn out with nowhere to go. Eternal humans cannot live in a natural world. They will live in an eternal world, where life and the Cosmo will be eternal, with no ending. A life without rot, decay, destruction, chaos, sorrow and death. It can be difficult to grasp such a concept with our finite minds but with an Infinite Eternal Creator all things are possible. |
