In my opinion a true relationship should be more about effort than feeling like work. Effort comes from a good place. Wanting to do something special for someone, or doing that little something to brighten their day. Work is just going through the motions to appease someone's requests. Efforts are usually recognized and rewarded whereas work is just taken for granted. The real key is to find someone who sees the effort and reciprocates as opposed to being the boss :)

What I Learned So Far

Rule #1) You can not make others happy. They either choose to be happy with who you are or what you can offer or they don't.
Rule #2) If you are not personally happy change it or quit complaining. Rule #3) Always refer to rules 2 & 3... That's what I've learned. |

Sometimes the phrase "till death do us part" can take on different connotations. Sometimes death can be your spirit or self worth that dies in a bad relationship.

Things like this should act as a reminder to be grateful for everything a person has in their life as well as everyone in it. I am truly sorry for the loss of your friend...

I think if your relationship has mutual respect, honesty, and compassion then there is nothing else needed.
