Trust
Trust is active, not passive. Trust is not just a belief, but belief in action. Trust means that even though life doesn't turn out the way we hope, we know that God loves us and is still with us. Trust means that even when we don't see solutions to our problems, we are still certain that God keeps His promises. (Psalm 20:7) #LightTheTriad (Hebrews 11:1)

Mortal Combat
In every believer's heart there is a constant struggle between the old nature and the new. The old nature is very active and loses no opportunity of employing all the weapons in its deadly arsenal against newborn grace; while on the other hand, the new nature is always on the lookout to resist and destroy its enemy. Grace within us will employ prayer and faith and hope and love to cast out the evil; it puts on "the full armor of God" and fights vigorously. These two opposing natures will never stop struggling as long as we are in this world. (Galatians 5:17) #LightTheTriad

Spanning The Void
Without God, man has an empty void in his life he knows he must fill, so man is constantly trying to reach God. But he keeps rebounding off the sin barrier. Then God, moved in mercy by the pitiful plight of sinful man, said, "I will do something." God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus, to make a way. And upon the rough-hewn timbers of a cross, Jesus gave His life so you and I could live forever and live forgiven. Jesus built a bridge between man and God. It's a bridge man could never build. And a bridge that man can never take away. (Ephesians 2:16) #LightTheTriad

Our Lord Jesus is always giving and does not for a single moment withdraw His hand. As long as there is a vessel of grace not yet full to the brim, the oil shall not be withheld. He is an ever-shining sun; He is manna in unfailing supply; He is a rock in the desert, sending constant streams of life from His pierced side; the rain of His grace is always falling; the river of His bounty is ever-flowing, and the wellspring of His love is a constant tide. Securely Fastened

It is good that there is One who is always the same and who is always with us. It is good that there is one stable rock amidst the billows of the sea of life. Let us not set our soul's affections upon rusting, moth-eaten, decaying treasures but set our hearts upon Him who remains faithful forever. Let us not build our house upon the moving quicksands of a deceitful world but base our hopes upon this rock that, amid descending rain and roaring floods, shall stand immovably secure. I Got The Part!
Before Jesus performed the first miracle, preached the first sermon, or called the first disciple, God made sure that his identity was clear. He was accepted, approved, and completely loved. Many Christians are trying to earn an acceptance and approval that Jesus already earned for them. God's acceptance of you is not based on your performance. That doesn't mean that you stop trying to do your best to live a God-honoring life. But it does mean that you stop trying out for a position or role God's already given you. The audition has been canceled. You've already got the part. You have nothing to prove because you have already been pre-approved. Not only does God accept you just as you are; not only does He love you just as you are; but He also likes the person that you are. God's love and acceptance of you is based solely on the finished work of Jesus Christ for you and His presence in you. It is based on your true born-again identity as His child.

Where Else Could I Turn?

We pray to the one, true God who loves, sees, hears, purifies, answers, comforts, protects, forgives, provides for, refines, restores, redeems and heals those who cry out to Him.

I need it right now

If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent a scientist. But because our greatest need was and is forgiveness, God sent Jesus.

From Platitude To Attitude

God takes an entire chapter to tell us, "If you don't love each other, you can forget all the rest of it." If you're not caring for your brother, God couldn't care less about your preaching & prophesying. There is a dying world that doesn't care how well you sing or how eloquent your word of wisdom is. They are dying, seeking new age spiritualists, sticking needles in their arms and drowning in a cesspool of pornography, because they need someone to love them! God wants you to reach out to them with His love. They don't need your judgments, accusations, or criticisms. They need Christ. Only He can set them free from their bondages, bewilderment, or demoralization. Love them the way that God loves you. (1 Corinthians 13:1) #LightTheTriad

Reassignment

Satan always seeks to twist and pervert the issue to serve his interests. At the moment he may be promoting family breakdown, gender confusion, and moral conflict. But Satan's real, underlying motive goes far beyond these issues. His desire is to capture the passions of the human race, because that is the highest priority on God's agenda. If we become complete in the will of God (Colossians 2:10), we walk in His plan and provision - because He has, in eternity, laid out our tomorrow, secured its borders, and planted a victory flag in the middle of it. Defeat will never be a part of God's plan for us. (Jeremiah 29:11) #LightTheTriad

There will be many special moments of needs of all kinds that we all will encounter. But know beforehand, that when the time comes, you will hear a small voice within you saying, "All is well. Go in peace". (Isaiah 3:10) #LightTheTriad (2 Kings 4:26)

The Pretenders
What's distressing is to pretend that second-rate is first-rate. To pretend that you don't need love and respect when you do. To lie to yourself and say everything is ok, when it isn't. Or to convince yourself that you like your work when you know damn well you're capable of much better. Bottom line: Love yourself enough to never lower your standards for the wrong reasons.

The Crux of Why
For the Christian, the crucifixion is the center of the whole, the event that gives voice to a broken, dark, and dying world, and the paradoxical suggestion of life somehow within it. The Christian marks steeples and graves in memory of the crucifixion. The death of Christ is the occasion that makes way for the last to be first, the guilty to be pardoned, the creature united again to its creator. The cross of Christ is the mysterious sign that stands in the center of the history of the world and changes everything. "I have been crucified with Christ," said one of his transformed followers. "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."

Mirror Image

If we were what we profess to be, and what we should be, we would be pictures of Christ; such striking likenesses of Him that the world would not have to hold us to the mirror and say, "Well, it seems somewhat of a likeness"; they would, when they saw us, exclaim, "They have been with Jesus; they have been taught by Him; they are like Him".

Eternal Capacity

You have tasked us to draw others to you. Please give us your grace on a moment-by-moment basis to always reflect your generosity and your eternal capacity for patience, goodness, and kindness. We know we can't do this on our own. Instead, we take comfort in knowing that you will supply us all we need to carry out Your will here on earth. We claim this promise, Lord. Strengthen our resolve to always freely share your love and kindness with everyone around us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Name-Drop

If there is one name sweeter than another in the believer's ear, it is the name Jesus. Jesus! It is the name that moves the harps of heaven to melody. Jesus! The life of all our joys. If there is one name more charming, more precious than another, it is this name. It is the melody of our psalms. It is the sum total of all delights. It is the music with which the bells of heaven ring, a song in a word, an ocean for comprehension, a matchless oratorio in two syllables, a gathering up of the hallelujahs of eternity in five letters.
Jesus, I love Thy charming name, 'Tis music to my ear. #LightTheTriad (Matthew 1:21) |

I Got This
The bottom line of sin is when we live our lives as if God doesn't matter. We may never say those exact words, but so often by the way we live our lives, we might as well shout, "God doesn't matter!" from the rooftops. Whenever we live life on our terms, we cement another brick in a wall that separates us from having an intimate, vital relationship with God. In order to break down the wall and reconnect with God, we've got to face up to the fact that we need Him - and without yielding control of our lives to Him - our lives will never be as complete and satisfying as He's designed them to be. (Proverbs 14:12)

Defining Presence

It is often in harrowing moments - your parents' divorce, your child's birth, the death of a loved one - where God leaves a defining mark. There is a reason you remember such moments so vividly. We have a choice to hear or to ignore, but regardless His voice cries out in our memories, I was there. God has been there in our past. God is here today. God will be there in our future.

Shadow People

Satan whispers to us all the time, playing the "What if?" game. What if you lose your job? What if they whisper about you when you leave the room? What if you gain all that weight? What if you go belly up financially? What if it is too late in your life to try something new?" Satan's lies, like dark, ominous shadows on the wall, loom big, at times bigger than our power to do anything about them. You and I are in Christ - "the secret place of the Most High" (Psalm 91:1) - which means that you and I are under only one shadow, and that is the shadow of the Almighty (v. 2). When the dark shadow on the wall sees the shadow of the Almighty, in whom we dwell, it has to go.
