It's not hard to imagine why some of the posters to this thread have been on a dating site for 8 years...come out of your shell! Talk to people! I don't understand the "THREAT" you're feeling unless it's borne out of low self-esteem or a lack of self-confidence.
Avoiding people who's intent is scamming others out of their money is more difficult if you're wary of strangers in general. I always bestow my trust until it has been abused or dishonoured.
