There's a little deception involved on both sides. Men are not selective online at all, so women have to sort through a lot of low-quality messages to find someone who puts forth enough effort to indicate genuine interest. On the other hand, women tend to disguise themselves in good intentions. If everyone would be more honest about the fact that they want to find a safe partner for casual sex, it would easier to rank, order, and file people into the right categories.
