Bad analogy or comparison.
They weren't recent migrants to the point of invasion & didn't have a hand out or a criminal/rape culture.
Right on both counts but indulge me a bit. Lets start with bad analogy: Tell me what I missed on Hitler's viewpoint because I never got beyond his 'Aryan Supremacy' line of thought and his thinking that Jews would sabotage the Nazi war effort. Were these enough to trash the Chosen People? Or was it the fact that the economy was held by these capitalists: 'merciless moneylenders'? We in India also have an influential segment in our society called Marwaris: hailing from the desert state of Rajasthan. The earlier gen started off as moneylenders; the next gen moved in as trade during British era and today's gen have among them leading business leaders of this country. So my viewpoint depends on whether I have taken a loan from a Marwari at exorbitant rates after providing security or whether I am having a decent job working in their organization. Hitler viewed them not as Capitalists but as moneylenders 'raping' the German economy. A Hate that stemmed among Germans during a weak economy; and from such perceived injuries. That was the analogy part. Hitler didn't care for the Jews, nor did Europe of those times, raise their voice when this got noticed. The prevailing thought was: 'the Jews had it coming'. Now switch to "invasion" and criminal culture". Those Syrians coming out with their families are working class faced with the choice of leaving behind their ancestral lands or exposing their familes to the threat of chemical bombs. These people, like most Asian people; don't have guns in their homes. Arming these people does not turn them overnight to an army able to fight the professional military and government in their country. Move forward to the raising incidence of criminal behavior by Syrian boys. It's typical juvenile brain at work. Their brain is not programmed to view women in skirts. For that matter, Indian people in general, the blue collared working class and some segments of youth; are also not used to seeing women in skirts. It hits their brain as forbidden fruits "now packaged in skirts"; a lifetime opportunity. This has nothing to do with religion. It's plain juvenile tendencies; insufficient to cordon them off and send them back to chemical bombs or to some gas chamber. In other words, the view that the boys are 'handing out' a criminal culture is out of context. It's simply a matter of disciplining them and authorities in the host countries can send out very strong messages. There is a pattern in history: and that pattern is visible as analogies when we compare historical 'processes' not just the end results. The strife between the German Jew and the German Aryan or German Slav is comparable with the Syrian Shia and the Syrian Sunni. You know all this but yet you paint what is not America and what is not white culture 'under a broad brush'. |

he also took a small, war torn nation that had just lost a major world war and turned into a super power of the time... if it wasn't for a couple of mistakes, we all could be speaking German right now... but all people remember about him is his ethnic cleansing... Again, an erroneous reading of politicized History. He did nothing of the kind. He started with a Germany after WW1 that had NOT been physically damaged by that war, whose factories were intact, and whose people were still basically strong, but desperate and persecuted by the idiocy of the rest of Europe. He propagandized the hell out of what his party did do, and exaggerated it again and again. The mistakes he made weren't small, and weren't limited to murder. What I remember him for, is handing control of all of Eastern Europe over to Communism for half a century, and crippling his adopted country for the duration. If you admire an economy built almost entirely on Government spending, that's fine, but I doubt you'll find many modern supporters for that. whatever, he still turned a losing nation into a superpower... not easy to do, regardless of what you might think... i never said anything about admire, i just stated he did it... you can argue all the whys and hows, but that doesn't change the simple fact he did it... MM, you left out the possibility of German European space ships landing on Mars!! But for Germany's pool of scientists that Russia and America divvied up. On the other hand the near annihilation of Europe's one million Jewish families; and the fact that Nazi Germany carried it out with cold military precision with their network of gas-chambers marks out what military dictatorship is all about. I refer this with Syria in mind. This is what Pakistan's General Musharraf said recently: "Osama was our hero & CIA's as well' The General takes credit for starting religious militancy: united militants from across the globe to fight Soviet forces... & trained terror groups like LeT in 90s for fanning militancy in Kashmir
Now look at the young gen Muslims: Raif Badawi, a blogger has been sentenced to 1000 lashes 'for insulting Islam'. Saudi authorities have given the green signal to resume flogging. Do the young gen of Saudi bloggers care about Osama or Badawi? The way Koran is structured, there's no escape; may be it's just Nazi Germany's Aryan Supremacy manifesto; packaged differently. Yes I say, Prophet Hitler is right. Kick the public & the Public is yours. On second take, i realize my statements are out of alignment with original topic but I see it's relevancy to Syria & the Syrian deluge into Europe which the world once again has been watching silently; concerned that any overt support will trigger off waves of terrorism by ISIS types within their own countries |

Just as been said that 'All are equal but few are MORE EQUAL'...!! I hate the mentality of being kind as long as me & my people are not affected...it is nothing but purely selfishness. Yeah...selfishness !! because by being kind to criminals who committed crime against others I'm creating my image as a kind & generous person in society. If any one really likes to be kind then he/she should dare to excuse those criminals who killed themselves or their own beloved one's. Like mahatma gandhi did!! Hi Prashan, I didn't quite get that. Did MG pardon criminals? Are you referring to the Hindu-Muslim clashes in the past that led to the birth of Pakistan? |

Reading the post on possibility of Changing Laws of Physics in distant galaxies (reference to quasar 3C 279) got me about the here and now; space ships getting past the asteroid belt. In the process came across the genesis of our planetary system. For those of us similarly interested: Earth and its neighbors aren't the first rocky planets to circle the sun, a new study suggests. Jupiter might have had a hand in flushing an earlier generation of rocky worlds into the sun to their doom, clearing the way for the current planets to form. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/earth-neighbors-weren%E2%80%99t-first-rocky-planets-solar-system The belt is between Mars & Jupiter and we have already had flybys of Jupiter since 1973. It seems to have escaped general notice how NASA managed these. Probably like driving a car at 95 mph through a 65 mph traffic. |

5 Monkeys In A Cage

That an interesting experiment but doesn't seem to push it far enough. I would have placed five starving monkeys in the cage as well to see that result, then replaced with more starving monkeys, one at a time. Another interesting result would be to have five non-starving monkeys to begin, then replace with starving monkeys, one at a time. That would be a banana blood bath! Unethical but interesting; just like humans. Or replace the ladder with one lone female? When one monkey has sex, the others are drenched. |

It would be nice if you would return when you are sober and explain this
ok here's the Indian version of Nailcap's dialogue: Man. i need 10K, ok? ok. I will call U. (after 24hrs) Urgent, man. Don't worry, I will call U. (48hrs) Hi man, today possible? Boss, just driving back from AB_City; will call U. Will die by time u reach back. Don't worry. (72hrs) Ah God! Correct expression, will call. (96hrs) That Man said: now eat bullet Organizing it. Am on drill ship, will call. then what
(120hrs) One dead. now it's you and me. Do it man, now, now. My father-in-law expired just now at AB_City. Got to go back. Un_stand n sorry. Forget. Will manage. -- (just some equation between guys) |

Speed bumps? In jokes & science; hah. sounds like a clergy in between hub & wi;
Back to Mcs. Just to point out that the Japs fixed some MMcs on roaches way back; & seemed they worked fine; like miniature robots!!! Didn't follow it up but seems like organic, inorganic divide; is eroding. A door has to be energized to respond to a logic. A roach like a car has a built in fuel tank. A car has to be attended; a roach vectors on fuel. What i mean is the 'divide' appears today like the Berlin Wall, it just may disappear. Imagine an organic compiler mounted on a roach with food & sex vectored in. |

Mc programmers probably get inspired watching the movements of tiny ants, roach and mosquitoes. (The Japanese have been in this game for centuries.) Apparently nature's Mc for say bees, which controls flight navigation and precision landing is tinier? And there's still room in them controllers to buzz for 'sex'! (this one, inspired from a recent joke in the forums: Defective Parrot) So we do have some fuzzy notion on this power in miniaturizing but we would like to hear OP's take; as he appears to be in programming. |

You have three kids that need a functioning Mom weather you stay together or not. Hysterical behavior, lazy, lying, and stealing medication is usually a symptom of something; first guess is and addiction of one kind or another but many of these symptoms are also symptoms of thyroid, diabetes, early menopause, even sleep apnea or other health/ mental (depression or bipolar) problems. NOT to mention a grieving process related to your child's disability and being ousted from her role a primary caregiver.... ..... ..... ..... I would recommend some type of intervention where both of you set down and problem assess together and actually come up with a better plan than what seems to be in the works. I seriously doubt you will like how this ends up. Sensible advice, wish I had received this some 20 years ago. |

You know Tulip; you have been so frank and forthright and talking here has become a healing experience for me also. Now I feel compelled to share my bit of experience so here's a flashback on fathers and since we have what is largely an American audience let me begin with.. So George Washington cuts down this apple tree and Sr. Washington surveys the wreck and asks 'Who did this?', and little George (in all his innocence?) proudly says: "It is I". The story I heard goes no further. We do know that Senior did not give him a thwack on the head nor declare that there won't be no more apple pies for you. Instead, we can imagine him getting down to his young fella's level and explaining; "Look George, good job but the tree belongs to the English King. Now how do I explain this to His Majesty?" Rest as we know is history. In my personal life, nothing so grand but way back as a kid I wanted to drive the car. It was in the seventies, Dad had bought this new Ambassador car which was not run during the week and the battery ran down by the weekends. So this weekend morning while cleaning it up he gave me permission to 'charge the battery'. This meant that I could sit in the driver's seat, start up and pedal the accelerator for a few minutes. I did that, pressed down the accelerator, looked at the amp gauge and before I knew it the car had crashed into the wooden gate and stalled. I had forgotten to check whether the gear was in 'neutral'; it had been set in reverse. Next thing I remember w's pushing open the door and running like hell was chasing me, down to the backyard where my Mom was and ran up behind her & hung on her leg. "what happened", I wouldn't speak but frantically held on to her. Then Dad came around; he is 6 feet tall to my what, I was 12 year shorty; waist high to my Mom so I must have been 3 feet something. Anyway instead of grabbing me, as I peaked from behind my Mom, he was grinning "what happened", she asked and he said the car's ok, the gate is damaged. Later that night, my Mom explained what I had known all along, my Dad was right between the car and the gate; cleaning up, when I pressed down the accelerator. He managed to move out in the nick. So what's the point in this story. All this happened a hundred years ago but i saw the connection today. Ok, so I'm a bit of a coward but let's see when things go wrong, I don't seem to be able to get into a blame-game; anger yes, but I don't itch to draw a gun. Boys seem to have this need to experiment around; trial and error stuff becomes a bit more safer when father's are around. All this came as a flash today; just thinking over Tulip's son and my own kid and how every Mom wants to deny 'time out with those 'vagabond' fathers'. I trust some of the ladies here, who feel let down by their abusive ex- can sense what i mean. Men cut lose may appear to take it in their stride. If they took time to think, it would be like what Lee Marvin said.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnbiRDNaDeo By then, most of us are retired from life. |

I hate to bring myself back into a well orchestrated post on wellness and prayers. But stupid me has to say something now n then right?
Now what was it i wanted to say? i forgot. English does that to me! well, well. Oh yeah, i was reading about the psychotic ex-girlfriend & it sounded like something out of a Chase novel. Really, my God; if one has to hit the mother on the head so that the Dad can see his kid? whoa. Why is she psychotic anyway? Your problem is she's been milking your brother for $1800. Let me tell you why? Cause it's her first child & she's investing her youthful life for him; $200 for beer & $60 for camels and she tries to be a patient mom and a protective maid. She's probably 27. Runs on credit cards. Nickeling & diming comes after 2 kids and 35. I can understand that you are beginning to hate my logic n commonsense. Good for your immune system. Tulip, i suggest you quit being an accountant for other people; convert into a Hindu; and visit this poor, poor, psychotic girl and stretch your sisterliness. The best thing if you really love your niece is to bring forward her mama's love; God & Aunts are a distant third in your niece's life. haha I should know. I was married to an accountant. haha |
