Do I know your God's name? My best guess would be JHWH, Jehovah, Allah, or one of the many names for God of Abraham. Before you go further, you should know, I have my own Goddess and I'm not interested in converting, do good luck with that, if you're commanded to by Him! :)

If people are using religious items or images to help them worship God, then I think you answered your own question. They are worshipping God, not the item or image. It is a reminder of the Sacred, not tje Sacred itself. As to whether using something to grow close to God.. Seems like the right thing to do, what do you think?
