i know this post will probably get moved to the "Sports Section" (which is fine,and yes, the pun was intended) but why do so called "thinking" adults (coaches,faculty and parents) put pressure on high school athletes to win at all cost? shouldn't we be teaching our kids to be better people rather than better athletes? be seeing you nope, you're wrong. better athletes get paid more than better people.

In general, your statement is correct. However, if the kids talent is a ligitimate avenue to a future education or even a possibility of going pro, I think that mindset has to be instilled for success.
Competition is a good thing. |
