Relish Lust

Ah, how well I know that when young men’s
Lustful thoughts drive their souls to travel to that lower zone, Oft forbid by social grace and delicate thoughts polite, Even the smell of rotting flesh upon a salty beach, Will not dissuade their burning passions. Though its aroma strong may well be hid By powders, scents, and lotions, the mask is brief at best And soon the odor true will force its way straight through Even the laciest fashions. So I say, dive on young men and find your “Y” Dive on, dive on with instinct bold and prompt those sighs; Ignore the warnings to your senses and the question, “Why?” And relish lust until the day you die. |

In such a beautiful flowing way,you have expressed the loss that is felt when one is left without something or someone that is loved that leaves the reader thinking of losses of the past. Well done!

1stsara,
I wrote "eyes" to help express the heartache that I experienced when my husband of 37 years left me for another woman. I just read about your pain. I will tell you to stay positive, take steps forward, and give yourself time to heal before getting into another serious relationship. My yoga practice was a great help to me. Take Care. Unci |

G,Ye of little faith. Wish you had written this poem for me when you learned of my heartbreak. It is a lovely poem. I can sympathize with Sara, but she is young. Her prince is still waiting for her.

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments!
GY your suggestion does take away the harshness from that stanza which needs to be more serene. Thanks! |

I gypsy from place to place
with each person that I encounter greeting me with warm embrace. I gypsy to homes of devoted friends and to homes of loving kin leaving me with new amends. I gypsy to exciting lands unknown to quench an unquenchable thirst seeing what has never been shown. I gypsy with belongings in tow with words that are often repeated "We reap what we sow" |

A great white stallion
with his mare flowing in the wind gallops across the plains without boundaries. A great white stallion with thundering black hoofs declares endless freedom without boundaries. A great white stallion with fire igniting his eyes refuses to live a life with boundaries. A great white stallion with his mane flowing in the wind gallops across the plains without boundaries. |

There are eyes that look into your soul
drilling into your heart an open pit never to be filled. There are eyes that sparkle with each laugh filling that open pit with happiness never to be ended. There are eyes that shoot forth a fiery stare trying to burn out the happiness never to be replaced. There are eyes that show such deep sadness revealing the hurt from the anger never to be forgotten. |
