im not going for mma,, and my ground game is tight. i have done the greco roman, and bjj w'muai thai,,,, i did a program in raleigh called crossfit nc for a while. that was rough,, and it was fun but hard. Sure! that's Jay Culbreth's place right? The "twister"? ha ha Rough indeed...if you are cool with the ground game then give KM a try...my only issue (I guess like with any other martial art) is that it changes SO MUCH from one school to another, so just take your time until you find some place that matches 100% with what you are looking for... Pros: Great close-range striking and grappling. Cons: No ground fighting
It's good when supplemented with BJJ or similar. If you are in NC, CKM is a great school. http://www.commandokravmaga.com/html/locations/nc.html I did a boot camp once in Raleigh and was pretty impressed with their approach. Also, I agree 100% KM is not a sport...80% of their techniques can not be used on professional MMA fighting. So just put everything on the balance. Good luck man. |
