The Sun's Goodbye

I've been kissed by fire
and it feels
like an elegant burn
gentle
as the butterfly's fluttering dance
and as warm
as a hug that says I'll hold you for forever

I've been kissed by fire
and it feels
like the breath of an angel
soothing
soft
yet awakening my soul
with an everlasting solace

I watched in silence
as it stretched
across forever
like a river of secrets
that ebbed and flowed with every color
of heaven
that was as deep and as beautiful
as my every thought

Time quietly
held the last vestige
of the sun's goodbye
as shimmering diamonds
slowly began to serenade
the darkness with what seems like
remnants
of the fading fire's light

He said he was hit by a train,
because he stopped
to think.

The wreckage was an iron cross
imbedded in his heart.

Deep. Very deep. And always, beautiful

The Most Beautiful

Never before
even in dreams
or wild imagination

Never before
the unimaginable
the most beautiful

Never before

I'm trying not to cry
I'm trying to be the strongest
but never before
has something been so real
so perfect
to make me so weak

Ten fingers
ten toes
with a perfect nose
the most beautiful

Never before
even in dreams
or wild imagination
could I ever hope
for you

My family tree was a weeping willow,
un-watered, unsheltered,
dying fast in raging storms.
The neighborhood heard the thunder crack,
and blow by domestic violence blow,
the willow wept.

Foster care was a brittle, barbwire cactus,
Aloof, neglected, forgotten by all
but the beatings of old ferocious winds
that scouted the desert plains,
hunting for the weak and vulnerable.

We survived.
Comfort never came,
but we had each other.

The once dying weeping willow dances now,
in breezes soft and slow.
It's branched arms conduct an orchestral overflow of love.
Our children are born
and play beneath the new green growth.
Wrapped safely in it's leafy tendrils,
we call it home.

An older poem I wrote.

But I wanted to say I am going to actually begin to publish now. Time and people have convinced me too.

It's about time you publish!!!! And I love this emotional piece

The Now

I watch
the sky catch fire
like liquid warmth
pouring over morning souls
to offer
their dreams
reality

I watch
every
night shaded secret
every
corner
nook and cranny
slowly being revealed
by the blinding brilliance
of the new day

And before
the rush
before
the to and fro
and noise
of a city alive
ravages
every moment
I breathe
and welcome
now
because it the only one
I'll ever have

I think you taste like lightening.
At first a soft tingle,
then a bolt,
that rushes down my body

I am on fire
for more.

That guttural sound you make
is heaven
breaking the sky -

A primal, baritone thunder
as deep calls to deep.

Umm, yeah, this one is, well, umm, breathtaking

Thank You and I Love You

I've wept
for the better part of my life
unsure
of what happiness was
or if I even deserved it

I watched
as my mother and father
struggled
to give me
what they could
what I wished
they would
have done for themselves

I've wept
for the better part of my life
as time changed them
and then
took them
before they were gray
before they were feeble
before I could give
back to them

In some ways
I see a better me
standing in the mirror
but a me still missing
something so deep and meaningful
so I weep
I weep
for the so much
I will never be able to say
thank you
and I love you

More

So dark
so cold
your touch
so hot
the light
is so beautiful

Shivering
yet sweating
as if it were raining
drops
falling in slow motion
we're
moving too fast
I'm lost
your touch
found me

I'm pleading
for
more
don't stop
stop
I can't take any more
but I want
more
with your touch
the screams
fill the silence
I'm still
shivering
your arms
are like a comforting
warmth
of more

Watches and sees
magic in each atom burst
into the conversation
partaken.

Birth of light is never
the comet you waited for.
It is growth and fire meshed in the volcano ruptured
to meet us where we wait,
looking up or down.

Tis smoke, tis lava,
or smoke and mirrors.
Tis futile in the majesty of atoms
emploding.

You and I stand at the precipice
of matter,
that matters

when it does.

Your time is not my time.
My time is not your time

There is no right, nor wrong.

Simple really.
If you believe we are one.

You continue to inspire me!!!!

I wish I had the words.

The words I wish I had.

Had I the words, I wish

it was that easy.

:rose:

And silence speaks . . . beautiful as always

Life

So be it
if by chance there's nothing else
life's too short
to squander dreams
for the sake of what's going to happen
after all
what will happen
will happen
even if
we don't want it to happen

So be it
because the sun doesn't always have to shine
let it rain
even on the good days
because the flowers
need love to
and no matter what you do
you can't change
what you can't change

So be it
because well
life is life
and if you're alive
and you are by the way
you haven't a choice to but to live
this moment right now
after all
it's the only one that matters

To Dance

I want
to dance with you
underneath the forever light
that shines
as brilliantly as my soul
whenever I'm near you

I want
to dance with you
to fall in love
with every moment
you take my breath away
so that I know
what it feels like
to be alive

I want
to dance with you
to twist
and turn
even if it rains
even if the wind
tries to carry us away
from morning
to noon
to night
just as long as your heart's beat
guides our rhythm

I want
to dance with you
underneath the stars
and the moon
as heaven stretches across
the forever night
to dance with you
until our image
is of one soul

Truthfully

The truth
has been blinded
by bright lights
and white lies
so all that's left
is dark spaces
and dark corners
dark skies
and dark moments
falling from eyes

Five people died
pause
for effect
did you get that
five people died

I bleed
red white and blue
from a wound
that will never heal
because the latest cause
of an uncivil war
is an election
they're trying to steal
the "peaceful" anger
you see now
is why some kneel
because the pain
of unfairness
believed
whether or not real
is the most powerful thing
someone can feel
so imagine
if you will
that five people died
pause
to reflect
did you get that
five people died

We could be
at that crossroad of diversity
where we
stand idly
waiting
pondering the next step
for democracy
does it work
for whom does it work
questions
never before that had to be
asked
or answered
because there was the underlying
positivity
that we
as a nation
would always be
the bastion of a proven philosophy
that everyone
through the trials and tribulations
of history
were the beneficiary
of a constitution
that states all men were created equally
but five people died
pause
to acknowledge their memory
they died
at a time
that didn't have to be
because truth
should always matter
