When I have to download anything I do it on my linux box. There are virii out there for linux but you just have to be plain stupid to actually execute one. Download linux, scan for virus, copy to external and plop it to my winblows machine :) thepiratebay is the best public tracker out there. demonoid being the only other one I will use. Ever since demonoid went down several months ago they have been slow to get the community of seeders back.

firefox. I own Windows, Mac, and Linux(my fav), and use Mozilla Firefox on all three with no problems. For social networking, I have tons of safe plugins to choose from, and I can sync them together. Also with Prism, I can load Gmail as if it were a program installed on my computer.
