You are joking right.

The Koch brothers are the Tea Party funders.
Them and Robert Murdoch (Fox).

Their political view points are one in the same which makes sense seeing as they provide the Tea-Party organizational leaders training.

I think that if you dig a bit deeper you will find that the Koch brothers (and Mr. Murdoch) do things just like our government does.

Place funds in the hands of both sides... and hope to control whichever side comes out on top by those funds.

It is the equivalent of military tactics applied to a 'business' structure.

Hedge your bets.

I can show you the recipients of the Koch brothers personal donations. If you'll look.

Of course the records stop in 2009 when the SC said they didn't have to report it anymore, and they are all Republicans.

Governemnt is to large... It needs more money to operate than its citizens can (as a whole) afford.
The last I checked, the net national worth of American citizens was around $54 trillion., up from $42.5 trillion about five years ago. How much is too much to afford? It seems to me that America can afford more and more Government as time goes on. I don't care how big Government gets as long as it makes life better for all its citizens.

Like Startrek!

The infrastructure is crumbling...

BALDERDASH.

The only part of the infrastructure that is crumbling is the decaying factories in the inner cities (because either their industry went elsewhere or because it became an industry that no longer provided a viable product).

If you drive a lot you know that our highways are mostly well maintained. (indeed it is sometimes difficult to get from one place to another because of 'maintenance').

So then why is this claim made?

There are two key sources for transportation investment needs: the American Society of Civil Engineers' (ASCE) Report Card for America's Infrastructure and US Department of Transportation's (DOT) Status of the Nation's Highways, Bridges, and Transit: Conditions and Performance Report to Congress (C&P report):

1. Independent estimates. The ASCE estimates that 1.6 trillion dollars is needed over a five-year period to bring infrastructure to good condition. This group relies substantially on DOT figures.

2.Government figures. The DOT's estimates are the most authoritative:

• Roadways. The DOT estimates that the maximum investment level required to eliminate the project backlog for bridges, and implement proposed highway improvements, is 131.7 billion dollars per year for the next 20 years. The cost per year to maintain current highway and bridge conditions is estimated to be approximately 78.8 billion dollars.

• Transit. The estimated average annual investment required to maintain the same physical conditions and operating performance of transit systems is 15.3 billion dollars. If conditions are to be improved, DOT puts the annual cost at 24.0 billion dollars. The majority of these needs are estimated to be in urbanised areas of over 1 million people.

• Railways. Freight rail funding comes from private sources. Nevertheless, there is concern that the railroad companies are not spending enough on infrastructure.

That's just transportation.

2% is a small percentage of the whole no matter how you look at it.

I take it that you have changed your opinion about the constitutionality of the individual mandate now.

I mean considering the Health Industry costs are so high. 18% of the total GDP does make it within the powers of the congress to regulate.

Israel could not survive, and would not have survived as long as they have if it weren't for the US.

The last time Egypt attacked they were down to their last reserves and losing until we stepped in.

That is why they would attack so quickly. To gain the surprise.

Our unending and one-sided support of them is also why the Muslim world hates us and we are the targets of so much terrorism.

Once again this is off topic.
Go to another thread to discuss this if its what you want to talk about.
