The white robes of the KKK were not meant to be a religious symbol. They were used to insight fear in the black families/people they persecuted. The idea of a man in a hooded costume, riding on horseback through the night was a form of terrorism. The costumes were at first simple potato sacks and such worn over the head, and eventually became full robes of different colors and finally a uniform color--what we know today to be the KKK uniform.

The History Channel had a really good documentary on where the KKK came from. turns out these fruticakes had no religious base at all--it was all based on terrorism. No difference in my mind between Al Queda and the KKK.

Also keep in mind that the KKK sport the American flag as well at rallies. Anyone can pick up a flag for their cause, but it doesn't re-write the history behind the flag. Just because a group of clowns wave the rebel flag at anti-black/anti-jewish rallies doesn't make the flag a symbol of their cause.

THe exception to this rule is the nazi flag. The flag was born out of hatred and is a symbol of hatred. The rebel flag wasn't born this way. Although slavery was a part of the war I don't believe the rebel flag is a symbol of slavery.

I do feel, however, that with the problems we have in this country today any flag you fly should be flown under an American flag, as we're all missing out on the big picture of who we are and why we're here. In saddens me when I see people hanging Easter or St. Patricks Day flags from their front porch yet can't find room to fly the flag that truly matters.

Just my $0.02.

Ok, so besides reporting for roll call, what exactly is the purpose of the ugly room? Is it just a place to herd all the ugly folks together, like cattle, so we don't roam all over the forums?

Although I would have chosen my words differently, his analogy does hold true: woman are like fine wine. How so?

They must be handled with care and love

Like wine, if experienced at a younger age they are bold and flavorful. However, they grow closer to perfection with age. No matter what year you prefer, all provide unique experiences that can be indescribable.

If treated with love and respect, they offer unbelievable tastes and textures. Whether you prefer white or dark varietals, both are worthwhile experiences for any man.

Nothing compliments dinner and an evening better.

Finally, although the most expensive and pleasurable can be found in high-priced locations, I tend to get mine at the local grocery store, in the discount isle. ;-)

I think the problem with society is that people continue to worry about "inter-racial" too much. The majority of us, if we traced our ancestry, would be surprised at the different races showing up in our heritage. We may not see it in our skin color, but it is there.

Black, white, yellow, red, brown. The world isn't going to get any better as long as we worry about keeping those colors separate instead of bringing them together.

You know you're getting older when...

you start reading forums with topics like "you know you're getting older when" to see if any of it applies to you...

My opinion? Younger guys see and are attracted to a vibrant, newly awaken heart in an older woman. spend 30 minutes chatting with a lady in her late 30s or 40s and you can't help but see the difference. You can see "life", you can see "zest", and you can see "a younger heart". Older guys spend time thinking "my life is nearly over", while older ladies tend to think "my life is far from over!"

It may sound corny, but if you think it through you'll come to the same conclusion.

(Man, thats way too deep for a Friday night...)

This one worked for me in the past...

"You have a beautiful smile. Yes, it's a common pickup line, but that doesn't mean it isn't true."

Two guys walk down the street. They stop to watch a dog licking himself. The first guy says, "Man, I wish I could do that." The second guy replies, "Maybe you should pet him first."
