As a former job placement assistant, I had the blessing of helping many people discover how to recognize their assets and present them better. That boosted their confidence by seeing themselves through the eyes of others, and I can only hope that they kept on or built themselves up better, from that point onward.

The asking price was higher than I could get for the vehicle if I decided to sell it next week, and then I offered him the cash that I was willing to go, on the spot. Take it, or leave it. He took the money, and I got what I wanted.

Point: You've got the $$$ power, regardless of employment. Shake it in their face. Business is business; excuses are a means of haggling with you. Haggle back. IMO
